A 2. 5 acre man made lake stocked with carp to 26lb. 04oz, some monster pike to 33lb. 08oz, but this fish has recently passed on. There is a good head of Bream, some fish have gone over 5lbs mark, there are a tench to 5lb to be found and a recent stocking back in November 2010 of 130 tench have boosted numbers. For the float fishermen there are roach to 2lb 4oz rudd and perch to be caught, these mainly fall to maggot or casters but small pieces of bread flake can also get the roach and rudd. Now in recent years the numbers of crucian carp has been on a steady decline due to the pike but we are glad that along with the 130 tench stocked, we also had 130 crucian carp, so good news for all.

The banks of the lake are all tarmac so it is an ideal place for disabled anglers to come and fish. Fishing on the lake is controlled by R. A. A (Rhondda Angling Association), see bailiffs on the bank for tickets or buy them from Dylan's pet shop in the high street in Ferndale.
rules and regulations
1>fishing is only allowed during park opening hours
2>the fishing season starts on may 1st to march31st
3>the pike season starts October 1st to march 31st
4>no litter shall be permitted
5>no persons shall damage, annoy and interfere with wildlife and any other property
6>no wading shall be permitted
7>the R. C. T. Council reserve the right to manage or regulate the lake in any manner, which it may consider suitable
8>all anglers must be in possession of a current environment agency licence and permit
9>all permits must be shown on request of association officials and other permit holders
10>no fly fishing
11>no spinning or lures
12>no live baiting
13>landing nets and un-hooking mats must be used
14>all anglers must keep to their swim
15>no bivvys how ever shelter may be taken during bad weather
