Darren Fawr - Garw Valley Mountain Bike Trails

Entire trail centre has had good strimming so now all nice and clear of overhanging brambles. Visitor centre at the car park will now be providing some snacks & drinks over the weekends during the summer holidays. ☺

Trails have received a good strimming and are looking good ☺ The cabin in the car park is now also open on weekends over the summer hols serving tea, coffee, some cold drinks, chocolate bars etc.

Couple of wee tasks done, 2 log benches put in on top of the black climb, much needed sit down here after that climb! Tree down across blue trail, first section through trees. Wont be able to clear this now until monday so just carry on along main forest track or cut in a little further up to get on that bit of trail. Cheers.

Happy to say that the storm damaged section on the blue trail is now repaired and open. Trail part will be a little tacky for a short time but the surface will gradually harden up.

First section of Blue trail in woods remains closed off due to windblown trees. It will remain closed until further notice. The main forest track is now clear so riders can use this track as a diversion to either join up with end of the Black trail or just follow track down to where the bird sculpture is and join Blue trail from there.

Our cabin/ visitor centre based at the Parc Calon Lan car park got broken into probably on Friday night around midnight. Some low life junkie scum broke through the shutter & inner door, realised theres nothing in there to steal and decided to set alight to the interpretation board inside. Luckily the cabin didnt go up in flames! Anyone from the valley that may have info please pass it on. Alot of crime happening in the Valley it seems at the moment.

Mind how you go if your riding the trails. Few branches falling on trails during this wild weather. Considering the conditions, these trails hold up really well with hardly any surface water or mud due to them being of a more natural rocky nature.

Good to meet up and ride with the Aberdare MTB posse today. Good fun, few laps and play around in the cold and snow. Cheers boys, see you again. :)

Re-surface after jump on the 'langline' trail. This is the handbuilt trail that comes off the black trail just after the bombhole. Be more jumps going in along here.

Bit of TLC along the blue trail this week. Berms are smooth and looking like new. Blue and Black trails running great :)

Trails are dry and running great at the moment :-)
