An update for our patients:
You will all be aware of the global health crisis regarding COVID-19 currently affecting the UK. We have been following the progress of this disease and after the Chief Dental Officer for Wales issued guidelines early last week, we have been working hard to alter our working procedures to follow that guidance. This initially meant stopping aerosol generating procedures.
Even though we work to the most stringent of cross-infection procedures, we are... aware that we need to play a part in helping reduce transmission of this novel Corona virus.
On Friday 20th March 2020 the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, announced the closure of pubs, restaurants and more, with the hope of limiting social contact and to encourage self-isolation. Hopefully this will slow the rate of transmission and reduce risk to the general population.
In order to protect you, other patients, and our staff, we are stopping any routine care from the week beginning March 23rd 2020. This is in line with recommendations given by the British Dental Association and other professional bodies.
We are remaining open for emergency care – this means for cases of trauma, uncontrolled pain, or swelling. Anything that can be postponed, will be.
How will we do this?
If you have an examination or routine treatment booked, we will be contacting you to inform you that we need to postpone your care.
If you feel you need to visit the practice, we ask you to call us beforehand on 01492 580099. We are open for emergencies only. You will not be allowed into the building without an appointment and someone will be watching to let you in if we're expecting you.
All patients requiring emergency care will be triaged over the phone. If an appointment is needed then you will be given a time to attend the practice.
Thank you
We are grateful for the understanding and friendship everyone is showing us at this time. We look forward to a time when normality returns, and we can resume care and treatment. We hope to see you then.
In the meantime, stay safe.

Current guidance received from Welsh Government states
If you have a concern about whether you have been affected by Coronavirus (either through travel or if you have been in close contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus), please DO NOT attend your appointment. Please call to cancel and we will happily reschedule your appointment.
Thank you for your co-operation with this ongoing situation.

The staff at Deganwy Dental Practice are taking part in this year's Save The children Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday 12th December and Friday 13th December.
We have taken part in this for a number of years now and instead of sending each other Practice Christmas Cards we all donate to the Save The children Charity.
If you have an appointment on the 12th or 13th and attend your appointment wearing your Christmas Jumper and donate to the charity the practice will also make an additional donation!
