About Diverse Cymru

Diverse Cymru works in Wales to promote equality for all.

Diverse Cymru Description

Diverse Cymru is an Equality organisation in the Welsh Third Sector, created in recognition of the difficulties and discrimination faced by people experiencing inequality in Wales.

Our current services include direct payments, self directed and independent living support, befriending and advocacy. We produce information resources, run a service user involvement project and co-ordinate volunteer placements. We facilitate forums and groups that work on various issues, from improving disability access to equality impact assessments. We provide consultancy services and deliver a range of training courses on equality related topics.

Thanks to the Mental Health Foundation for this graphic - horrible statistics around men's mental health, and this month we're talking about men and their mental health journeys who have shared their stories with us at Diverse Cymru.

On the recent Jane Hutt statement from Welsh Government, with almost three quarters of hate crimes recorded in 2018/19 related to race & religion, Diverse Cymru says "Enough is enough."
We heard at our last Have Your Say for Office Of The Future Generations Commissioner, someone's story -"For my skin, I get so many cat calls. People put dog poo on my door, people call me a ‘paki’. I'm not Pakistani. They say “oh you paki go home”. I get scared to walk home."
