Josh and his team were friendly, professional and did a fantastic job repairing the leak we had around the brick work of our chimney. We received an initial quote after a visit, followed up by a detail breakdown of the costs involved. They were even kind enough to remove some old sky dishes and aerials. I would absolutely recommend these guys, they took care of everything, and their standard of work is impressive!

Josh was by far the most helpful and informative of the people who gave us quotes for the repairs that we needed to our roof and we chose D J Mackay & Son to carry out the work. This turned out to be a good choice.
Before arriving Josh kept us up to date on what he would be doing and when things would happen. The team that worked at the house were friendly and considerate to us and to our neighbours. Once their work was done they tidied up and removed all debris. The finished work has done all that we wanted and looks neat and professionally finished. We are very pleased with every aspect of the project.

We've been struggling to get a hold of anyone to look at cracked chimney that was causing damp issues in our house for some time. After calling, emailing and texting a lot of roofing specialists and no one getting back to me I found D.J. Mackay & Son on Google and I thought I will give them a call as they had a lot of positive reviews.

I spoke to Josh on Tuesday and I sent him some photos of our chimney and the issues it was causing. Since the chimney wasn’t in use and we had no plans to use it in the future Josh’s recommendation was to remove the chimney stack above the roof level and he said that they will be able to do it within next two weeks. The following morning (Wednesday) Josh messaged me and asked if it would be ok to put the scaffolding up ready for the chimney removal. The scaffolding was up 3 hours later. The same evening Josh called me and asked if they could do the work this coming Friday.

On Friday they’ve started work when they said they would and the chimney was gone, tiles were replaced and vent was installed in just over 2h. They also took all the rubble with them so we didn’t have to worry about the disposal. Whilst on the roof they’ve noticed an issue with the roof ridge and said that they can comeback on Sunday to fix it. They came back on Sunday and done the work as promised and the scaffolding was taken down on Tuesday so everything was sorted within a week of speaking to Josh!

Throughout the entire process I found D J Mackay & Son quick, reliable and honest and will definitely contact them again if we need any work done on our roof!
