Why are dogs good for us?
'The human-animal bond goes straight to the heart and emotions and nurtures us in ways that nothing else can.' Dogs improve our quality of life in so many ways but below are just a few ways that they help us each day, by just being dogs.
Spending time with dogs, and even more so petting them and cuddling them, increases your levels of oxytocin, which is a neurotransmitter that calms your nervous system down, relaxing you, whilst also increasing you...r trust.
Petting dogs not only ups your oxytocin but also lowers your cortisol, the stress hormone.
If your shy, walking your dog can help improve confidence and independence as it gets you out talking with like minded people who have something in common.
Playing with your dog increases the levels of feel-good chemicals in our body.. dopamine and serotonin, making you feel better on a stressful day.
A dog also gives you a reason to get out exercising every day... No matter what!
Lastly, dogs are not judgemental and don't care about material things or how much money you earn, they love you for being you and always look forward to seeing you.

π I'm sure some of you have a dog that would use up their wishes like this!
π©π Approaching a dog in the correct way can make all the difference to the response you will get πΎThis is a great illustration of what would be appropriate πΆπ and what would be an inappropriate πΆπ way to approach a dog that you don't know.
Dogs aren't robots and need respect just like we do π
πΆπWe all love seeing our dogs off lead when they are out and about, but it's important to remember the unnecessary stress off lead dogs can cause live stock and their young. When your walking through the countryside just remember to be sensible and use a lead ππ

πΎπ There are charities across the country helping dogs in need. Everyone can do something to help, no matter how small - it all makes a difference. ππΎπ

πΎπ This is something important to consider when allowing your dog's off lead? Do you have adequate control to recall your dog from this kind of situation? If not, then best not let them off lead around dogs who are being walked on lead. They may be anxious, nervous and reactive around other dogs - these dogs need space. πΎπΆ
ππΎ Something to consider when feeding your dog's, carrying too much weight can be detrimental to their health. Best to keep them fit and healthy with an appropriate nutritious diet, the correct amount for their optimum weight and adequate daily exercise. π
