The Welsh Government has extended the COVID-19 lock down. All main attactions in Llanberis and Wales are closed.
As a result we are not taking any online bookings before 1st of June. These will be provisional bookings dependant on the enforcred closure being lifted. Should any bookings be cancelled, it will of course be free of charge.
Stay safe and hopefully we will see you once everything is back to normal!

Another day without guests. We are allowed to go out for a walk so here are a few snaps, it was nice to get out into the sunshine and clear blues skies.
I liked the way this tree was alive and well, sprouting next to the wall, but the rest was shaped and battered by the wind and covered in moss and lichen.

We had a directive from Gwynedd Council telling all parks, campsites and accommodation to close immediately. Therefore, I am unfortunately having to cancel bookings. There is really little choice for us but to comply with the directive. No indication of when the enforced closure will be lifted, there is talk of twelve weeks.
Currently online booking system will nolonger take bookings before the 5th of May.

Snowdon summit has been packed with people for the last few days, as a result the council has advised all accommodation to close. We still remain open to existing bookings until ordered to close. We are not very busy as most bookings have already cancelled.

COVID19 has reduce the number of people staying but until the Welsh Government inform the business to shut or we need to self isolate then we will remain open for business. The last two days the weather has been good and people have been walking up snowdon even though there is still ice and snow at the top of the mountain.

Last month Llyn Padarn was the highest I have ever seen the water level. Luckily Llanberis and North Wales were not flooded like the rest the Wales and England.

Bedroom 5 has been rebuilt and has been used by it's first guests. There was one issue, the electric shower I installed; it allows water through even when the electricity is off at the isolation switch, so the guests had a cold shower. All previous electric showers I have installed do not operate until power is on, I wonder if this is a new EU standard or just a feature of the lastest model.
It has been really horrible weather last week, school half team, today being the best, but is looks like more wet and windy weather is on the way.

Last weekend the weather was terrible from Saturday afternoon until Tuesday due to the final stages of storm, then it was nice for a few days. This weekend is going to be worse than last weekend according the the weather forecast.

We have had many interesting people stay, a few I would consider mad and a few more I would call masochists. We have someone staying now that falls in the the last group a nice chap but he is doing the "Paddy Buckley Round" this is insane at the best of times but it is winter now.

Today travelled back from the cash and carry alone the A55 between Conway and Bangor. The cloud was like I have never seen before. It was as if the bright sun and evaporated the water from the wet hillside and was blowing it off the mountains in to the sea. The tops and bottoms of the mountains were free of mist/cloud. The grey cloud hugged the top and slide down the north side of slopes to extended from the middle of the mountains out to sea about 600 yards before thining and disappearing. As we drove from Bangor to Llanberis we ascended in to the fog and then broke out at the top into sunshine. Even more surprising was that Llanberis had had glorious sunshine and clear blues skies all day.

It has been a nice few days but the weather forecast for his weekend is not good. People are beginning to walk alone the high street and we went for a walk ourselves in the sunshine. Meet an American in the pub across the road where we had decided to have lunch, he had just come down from the mountain. There was snow on some of the slopes but the Llanberis path was clear of ice and snow. I was surprised that Cole had no idea where the slate museum was since he had been here for a night or two.

The weather has been wet and cold this weekend. Since we have no guests for a few days it is time to give the dining room a quick coat of paint.

The weather this time of year can be very bad. But Jack and Sam Had an excellectent walk up miners and down lanberis path yesterday.

We are open again up until christmas, now.

The guest house is still closed because the plumbing is taking longer to fix than I thought it would. Had to go and get some more copper pipe yesterday and the sun was just setting when i left. It is difficult driving when the sun is just above the horizon. After shopping driving back from Caenarfon to the house was glorious, the moon was up in a cystall clear sky and sitting just above the snow sprinkled mountains.
