Evans is a Newtown institution. If you don't know about its giant Chelsea buns (the biggest in Britain) then you haven't really been to Newtown. Also great value for money, lovely staff and with everything else in Newtown closing it is the last place a lot of people have to meet

Recently moved back from France where they know a thing or two about pastries but I have to say this cake shop is equal if not ahead. Pleasant staff and good food. We call every visit to the town.

Quality cakes, sandwiches, breads, pastries. Very pleasant place. A big part of the town for many years.

Excellent service, fed two adults and two fussy children for sixteen pounds including drinks. Busy little place, understandable once you've eaten here, well done.
