Evans Halshaw Vauxhall Newport

Great staff, really made sure everything worked out.

Slightly disappointing experience. Kept hanging around for ages, despite calling in advance to say we were coming. Decent car stock but we felt like they weren't bothered whether we spent our £10,000 there or not.

Good prices and deals but some staff need to actually know more of what they are selling and to know what theyre actually doing

I was incredibly disappointed with the experience in dealing with this dealership.

I left a deposit for a Porsche and agreed to collect two days later. Then when I called I was told it hadn’t been through the work shop and had any checks done. I had to call every 2/3 days to ask the latest and always got a vague response. I was never sent email confirmation of my deposit.

10 days later when I called I was told the car was not in good enough condition to sell and has to go to auction. Basically wasted my time when I could have gone and seen other cars. When I asked for my deposit back I was told “sure not a problem” another few days later and nothing. Finally I spoke to the sales manager and demanded immediate refund and was told “yeah another 3 days” with an attitude which was unprofessional; no apology.

The reasons I’m unhappy are;

1. I was never updated by the dealership, I was always the one calling
2. I never got any email correspondance (non-binding)
3. A car should only be advertised once it is fit for sale; a private seller wouldn’t do this never mind the seller
4. The deposit took another week to return and the sales manager was quite rude

I’m sure this review will be followed with a generic copy and paste response “I’m sorry to hear about your experience etc” but from my experience I’d advise everyone to stay clear of here.

Interestly the car is now back up for sale on both their website and autotrader. This a case for the motoring ombudsman. Shameful.

Professional, very nice, reliable professional service for anyone who buys or watches cars. good communication, competent staff and good telephone contact. Prices very good. I would definitely recommend it!

just visited now, no one even bothering to help. looked at 4, yes 4 cars on website that say they are at newport branch and cannot find one. thankyou for a wasted journey of 20 miles. i should ask for my petrol money too. absolute waste of time and effort!!!!!

I found my experience of dealing with EH in Newport very helpful and the member of staff I dealt with couldn't do enough for me. He put me at ease and dealt with any queries I had promptly. I would definitely recommend to a friend and I would use them again in the future.

I went to Evans Halshaw yesterday 23rd May 2017, I needed some advice regarding my Astra, I wanted to purchase a relay or whatever was causing my problem, the parts person , maybe the parts manager, was totally disinterested, "whats the part number", how do I know isnt that his job? after about 15 minutes I could see that I was getting nowhere, so I left, I went to halfords, bought a relay that I thought would do the job, thankfully it did, ....the point is, if Evans Halshaw are the main Vauxhall agents for the area should they not treat each customer the same whether they want £10, switch, or a £500 whatever ? After reading some of the reviews about them on here it is no wonder there are complaints, I have 2 Vauxhalls, but from now on I will be driving to the Cwmbran dealership, where I am tol the service is more friendly and helpfull.....rubbish.
