EXPED Ltd, Managing Director, Lee Brent Smith, whose career experiences and qualifications encompasses Leadership training, Arctic, Jungle and Desert training, skiing - Nordic, Alpine, Telemark and Touring, running, trekking, driving - 4x4 and tanks, scuba diving, sailing, rock, sport and ice climbing, open canoeing, kayaking - sea, white water and inland, shooting, mountain biking and white water rafting and, leadership skills. Overall, 25 + years of teaching and training in the outdoors across military and civilian life.

Adventure starts with an idea, EXPED makes it become a reality

Historically, EXPED began back in the 50's with a Swiss farming family, whose name can be traced all the way back to the days of William Tell, a famous Interlaken Hotel which operates to this day and, a Swiss Army family member who served as a fully qualified Swiss Mountain Guide during and after the WWII era.

The Family ethos was always to teach younger family members to not only be safe in the mountains but also, to be able to fend for themselves in the wilderness from an early age. This is the Swiss way in the Alps and, is what underpins the creation of EXPED in the UK. Ultimately, the Director's joint accumulated experience of 50 plus years of upbringing, lifestyle changes, business operations within tourism and the military, has evolved into EXPED.
