*** The Great 'Closed For Cleaning' Experiment version 1.2 *** Thanks for all the comments and feedback yesterday, we're going to try again but taking into consideration your suggestions :) Having time to clean properly is important as it helps us press reset and then we work away for the rest of the day keeping it nice and tidy.
Mens will be closed 11 am - 12 pm... Ladies will be closed 12.15 pm - 1.15 pm
You will still be able to use the loos in the family rooms, but we ask that you don't shower in them during this time so people can nip in.
We'll see how this goes ;)

Pete is back with his paddle boarding lessons on the lake tomorrow. The forecast isn't looking as wet as it did at the beginning of the week.

Good morning Fforest Fields!

User

Sunset from the look-out last week!

**Cleaning at Fforest Fields**
We are passionate about keeping the facilities sparkly clean here. To do this we are going to trial shutting the loos for a short period every morning over the summer.
Ladies >> 10.15am - 11.15am... Gents >> 11.30am - 12.30pm
You will still be able to use the family rooms while the main washrooms are closed, but we ask that you hold off on showers until they reopen so that people aren't waiting for too long :)
If this doesn't work we'll rethink!

We had supper at the Roast Ox tonight, lovely thank you Tony, it was delicious. The drive over to Painscastle and back is always a joy, snow, mist or sunshine but tonight it was startlingly clear after the rain. Looking back at the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons.

If you spending a quiet weekend at Fforest Fields on the 11th, you may enjoy this. A stunning setting, lovely music and sweet smelling lavender, what a delicious combination!

User

Of course it’s raining cats and dogs it’s the first day of the summer holidays, duh!

User

We really love Fforest Fields, the campsite and surrounding countryside is beautiful, with lots of birds and wildlife to see. It has a couple of lovely lakes, one which we fished in, and the other one my daughter enjoyed swimming in! Brilliant fun! Dog friendly, with lovely walks straight from the camping field

Very welcoming owners, nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend

User

We have just stayed at Fforest Fields for 5 nights. It was our second stay and we honestly can’t think there could be any better site anywhere, and we have stayed at campsites throughout Europe and New Zealand! Lovely people, excellent and very clean facilities, well laid out park that has a very relaxed feel about it....and all this within amazing scenery! What more could you want. We will definitely be back.

User

We have been coming to FF for many years, and is an absolute gem of a site. The friendliness of staff and campers alike, the relaxed atmosphere, superb facilities and prettiness of the site is very very hard to beat!

I have read a couple of reviews that were stating their weekend was ruined, as they were asked 3 times to be mindful of noise after 10.30pm. In the years we have been coming here, we have never found the staff to be unreasonable. In fact its quite the opposite. Nothing is ever too much trouble and the staff will help with anything to ensure you enjoy your stay!

I feel very sorry that the staff have been put in such an awkward position to have to ask campers to quieten down 3 times. To me, this shows that they really care about other campers having the quiet and peaceful nights that we all love at the site.

It seems to me that if you have to be asked to be quiet several times, then the group involved obviously had no respect for others on the site.

Keep up the good work FF, and thankyou for making this such a special place! Xxx

User

We camp at Fforest Fields every year, if not more than once a year. Sometimes for long family breaks, sometimes weekends with friends, sometimes stopping over en route to Snowdonia. We love the chilled vibe on the site and seeing the family look after the campsite. Everyone is super friendly and it is a little haven of peace and quiet where you can park up and not go near the car again if you just want to relax and spend your days wandering the acres of land nearby and through the woodland or kayaking on the lake. It's ideally located to visit the Elan valley and do some longer reservoir walks there. We keep coming back and telling everyone about it because it is a perfect campsite and our dogs sink into a deep depression when we return home after a visit!

User

This site hit all the boxes for me, loved it, my dog never had to be put on lead, obviously had to make sure she behaved. And she absolutely loved the swimming lake, took her to the lookout and what a view, could just about see our tent, I have never been to a site that let you charge your phone never mind give you free WiFi brill no playground but children, not ours seemed enjoy themselves anyway all we saw was children playing kicking a ball or playing rounders, it was just a great site, the owners seemed to have taken every consideration and put them into practice only have one problem it's too far away, wish it was nearer

User

This place is amazing we have just come home from a weeks stay, we have been coming here for the past 5 years and every time just gets better and better well done everyone your doing an amazing job keep up the fabulous work, cant wait to come back

User

There has to be no place better. It’s in the beautiful Welsh countryside, surrounded by hills. Brilliant facilities for washing, cleaning clothes etc. So much for children to do from swimming to using the kayaks. Awesome cafe selling great coffee, delicious cakes and pastries, pizza’s on a Friday. A small organic and fair trade honesty shop. If you need to get away from a hectic life, there is no better place than FForest Fields.

User

Our return visit the last time we visited was 21 years ago, the same wonderful welcoming family are still there. The site has improved with age it is now absolutely amazing. Loved the pizza night on Friday evening and then cocktails on Saturday evening. Re-booked for another trip in 6 weeks time... may try to squeeze another one in before then

User

Our first time to fforest fields and we were very impressed, staff are polite and welcoming. The whole of the site is very clean and the views around the site are brilliant. I would highly recommend walking up to the wooden shack at the top of the hill the views are lovey. This took us around 25 minutes with a steady pace.

The site was busy when we arrived as it was half term however there was always toilets and showers available and they were very clean. The site has fridges and freezers to store your food and also places to charge your phones for free.

The kayaks are a great addition and these can be taken out on the lake for free with a small donation to a local school.

We are already looking forwards to our next visit.

User

My first visit this past weekend. I’m not accustomed to camping, however 2 nights in the yurt was amazing! Beautifully decorated, a lovely little kitchen to the side and our own decked area. Not to mention the gorgeous views and great facilities on site. (Shower block, recycling, shop, fresh coffee & brownies).

The ‘silent night’ ethos was perfect, the ability to sit and watch the night sky with no light pollution just immense.

The added bonus of being able to take the dog was great. He had a fabulous time running in the permitted areas....he slept for the whole day when we got home.

Happy humans, happy dog, I shall return. Thank you.

User

Loved, loved, loved this campsite. We camp all the time and this campsite is by far the best ever. Just back from first visit and will be making the four hour drive again as soon as we can. From the 'honesty shop' to the drying room and cafe, this place is immaculate and beautiful. Well done all of you!!

User

Just returned from our 1st weekend at fforest fields and it will definitely not be our last.

From the friendly welcome, pizza night, perfect surroundings, walks and lakes that the dog thoroughly enjoyed, to the high standard of cleanliness in the showers/toilets and provision of fridges and freezers for general usage.

Highly recommended to all friends and family by the end of our 1st evening.

See you all in a few weekends time xx

User

I would definately agree that this is a beautiful campsite. We will be sure to come back. We didnt get to explore as much as we had hoped because of the soaring temperatures both dogs and my girlies were struggling. They did make use of the wild swimming in the lake which they absolutely loved. My only criticism if I had to think of one is it was hard to find much shade but everything else was lovely. Lovely people lovely site and well run. Thank you x

User

Fantastic camp site... had a fabulous time. Perfect for all the family. Immaculate site, toilets, showers. Wonderful shop, amazing bacon and sausage. Warm croissants, and many fruity ciders too choose from at the cafe. And to top it off all the walking my legs could cope with... thank you Fforest fields we will be returning!!!

User

Easily the best campsite we have stayed at. So good we've changed our whole holiday plans. Trip to Portmeirion is off as we are spending our time here instead. Great staff, warm welcome, good cider. Swallows and Amazon setting for children. In all sobriety, if I died, and heaven was this campsite and its environs I wouldn't feel short changed. Even the angels would be happy to use the toilet and shower blocks so pristine are they. Most campsites are used as a base to explore. This one is a holiday in itself. Recommended with extreme prejudice. We shall most definitely be back.

User

Been twice now, and loved it here both times.

It's big enough to find your own space, small enough to feel homely and welcoming. Children have enough room to play, and adults enough room to relax. Or you could kayaking in the lakes, or go fishing in the other lake, plus walking or mountain biking, and the well stocked shop, and café makes Fforest Fields a great place to spend some time.

User

An amazing place. A small bit of paradise in the Welsh valleys. The thing is is that it’s so constant have been back and forth for years admittedly not for some years but it looked the same as it did all those years ago only more beautiful. The family that own it are just as warm and passionate about the place as they are about their customers. So very clean and friendly love the place. Can’t think of anywhere that I’d like to sit and let the world pass by. Thank you for making our weekend so perfect.

User

Absolutely spotless everywhere well maintained with very friendly staff with a smile. Amazing views from camp site with a perfect location to travel around. Very good value! WiFi is free and really good signal. Phone charging is free kayaks are free fridge and freezers are free parking is free dogs are free. At last we found a camp site that don't rip you off for everything. All this family who own this camp site want you to do is enjoy your holiday and they do the best they can for you. This is our number one camp site in the whole of the UK. See you soon

User

Just returned from our first camping trip and first visit to Fforest Fields, we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!! The Paddle board lesson and use of the kayaks made the holiday for our girls. The facilities were spot on and staff we welcoming and friendly. Our only grumbles are we were placed near a large loud group and there were quite a few yappy dogs. Would highly recommend Fforest Fields and can't wait to book our next trip
