Founded by Ruth Davies in 2019, First of March showcases award-winning, international names to new creative talents becoming the makers to watch in the global design space. First of March was built with three core Welsh values in mind - Hiraeth, Cynefin & Hwyl. Collectively they represent the creativity, storytelling, and connection epitomised in beautiful contemporary craftsmanship - brought to life by our makers through their work. Our mission is to drive the celebration of contemporary Welsh craft on a global scale: to support and nurture independent makers and the sustainability of the communities in which they live and work. Every purchase made through the First of March is an investment in our collective cultural future.
