Here at the Flash Leisure Centre we are delighted to announce the launch of our brand new Mermaid and Merboy swim lessons, taken by our very own Queen Mermaid Aqua Marina 🧜‍♀️
Experience the unique world of being a mermaid, and learn how to move through the water in fun filled sessions full of activities!
Our first sessions will run on the following dates (please keep an eye out for many more lesson dates coming soon) from 9am-10am:

Sessions will last 45 minutes and cost £5.70 per child. To participate children must be able to swim 25m, float on their front and back as well as take a breath and tread water for 1 minute. Tails and fins are provided by us.

We sincerely apologise for the wait and we have now put in new measures to ensure that this will never happen again. We are grateful for the patience of all our amazing customers and glad that this matter is now resolved. We have also got a service planned for our spin bikes on August 15th with a follow up call to resolve any issues raised in that service shortly after.

We have just had our sons 1st birthday party hiring the swimming pool. What a fantastic experience, the facility was perfect as it catered for every age group as well as the staff especially the management went out of their way to cater for all of our needs. We can't thank you enough. Absolutely brilliant

We have had a lovely day today the staff were approachable and friendly facilities appropriate and the swimming pool was amazing my daughter loved every minute. Thank you

Love it since the improvements and go four times a week. Lorraine is a great help in the Functional Lite and Tim makes the Pilates sessions great fun. The only complaint is that the AAA is not included in the monthly pass and as this is not an Exercise on Prescription class but a regular session for older and/or disabled members this seems most unfair. It discriminates against us, the majority of whom are retired people. It means those of us unable to pay the extra money on top of the monthly pass can no longer go. Lorraine has been inspirational to many of us who have suffered ill health in a variety of ways and it is short sighted of whoever has made this decision to put us into an either/or situation. When I first attended Lorraine's classes several years ago she motivated me at a time of physical disability, pain and depression. That motivation and help enabled me to go to work abroad at the age of 66 and work there for nearly 8 years in very difficult circumstances. It is a great disappointment to return and find that at aged 75 I am expected for no good reason, to pay extra above the membership cost if I want to take part in this really valuable session.

Just love this pool we regularly swim here with our 3 children. It takes us a good 45 minutes to get here but definately worth it. Life guards are fab very on the ball and alert but also friendly. Reception staff are lovely too. Highly recommended it 5*

Great overall improvement at the Flash with new facilities over the last few months. I occasionally attend (should to go more) spinning classes with "Amy" and there excellent. Keep up the good work. ÔøΩÔøΩ

First time I've ever been to a gym and was a bit apprehensive but absolutely loved it. Lovely new gym, friendly staff and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Been great when I've been home from University - offers great deals on monthly memberships for everything I need & the staff are fantastic.

A huge thanks for the Flash for putting on a distant award swimming session this morning. Both my boys are so proud of their efforts in achieving 1,250m & 2,300m badges - and rightly so! It would be great to see this happening again. A little costly though when more than one child wishes to attend!

Take the grandkids here swimming every month when at the caravan, great facilities. Water in the pool could be a tad warmer and the showers are too hot for kids

Had a fab reception after bringing my disabled step daughter the first time yesterday. Nothing was too much trouble with a special chair brought to us. We came back today and although freindly, we couldnt access the disabled changing room as one was being used and other out of order. No chair brought to us and not same reception although lady did come up and give us a ball to play with. Bit of a change from yesterday but still come again. Good access to pool as there were no steps. Normally good changing facilities for disabled. Very impressed. Good prices to with 2 carers and adult for £3.20! See ypu soon!!!!!

Please could we swim in a pool that is not soo hot. There have been so many improvements to the Flash and I love it. The staff are friendly, polite and welcoming. The early morning start to the swim and exercise classes are a superb way to start the day. The only blip, pool too hot! From a loyal customer.

Can’t really put more than 3 stars due to how filthy the changing room floors and toilets are. shame cos the actual pool is a nice one to swim in. Literally felt like I neeeded to wear protective footwear when entering and leaving the pool..yuk.

We visited The swimming pool at the end of February and found that yet again the changing rooms and floors were filthy. The family changing room is a disabled toilet and very basic and again floor filthy. I made a complaint via the website the following day and requested a response but as of yet, still no reply. I was also very disappointed to see the food hygiene rating is a 2. The swimming pool is perfect for our 2 year old with the walk in area as gives her some independence to splash around safely but we feel completely put off by the lack of basic cleanliness.

Was very disappointed to find both lifts out of order tonight so no wheelchair access into the building!!!! The indoor lift has been out of order for over 2 months!!!!!!

The 2 stars is based solely on Tumble Towers Soft Play Area.





Last time we go to Tumble Towers at The Flash. Last 2 times we have been I have complained because of how dirty the place was. Not once was I offered a refund and they said on both occasions they would close it and get it deep cleaned. Went again this morning at 9.30 and asked the receptionist if it had been deep cleaned as promised, she looked at me like I was mental and said "I don't know, ask the managers over there". I asked 2 blokes and they said yes it had been deep cleaned recently. We were probably the first ones in there at 9.30 and it was exactly the same as the previous times we visited. I don't know what their idea of deep cleaning is but clumps of hair and dust and food is not deep cleaned (I have photos) and my son was crawling around grabbing handfuls of dirt. It's disgusting. Also the fabric on the stairs has still not been repaired and dangerous for the kids going up and down them. They told me last time I went that Tumble Towers is being closed after Xmas but that's no excuse to let it be filthy. I'm not paying another £5 odd for my kids to play in filth.

I've only rated it 2☆ as today I've realised (along with 4 other people) that I have been paying for a bank holiday swimming lessons for the last 12 month's!! These lessons do not go ahead on bank holidays!! I was told when I signed up for DD payment that they would automatically take these off (ok so I should check my statements) wich they have not,and have no intention of doing.so I am due a refund of around £25. I dread to think how many other people across the Freedom leisure centres,do not know about this,and have been charged for lessons their kid's are not having! This should be made clear to all parents who's children have lessons on a Monday, that they have to fill in a form for reimbursement for this money after the bank holidays!! I'm sure administration could sort this out so the payments are not taken in the first place!!

I asked for some information at the centre and no-one could tell me the prices or times of swimming lessons- very odd! Wanted to know also if lessons through the medium of Welsh were offered.



Have e-mailed three different e-mail addresses found on the website- no answer! Facebook messaged now so will be interesting to see if I get a reply!

They told me last time I went that Tumble Towers is being closed after Xmas but that's no excuse to let it be filthy. I'm not paying another £5 odd for my kids to play in filth.

I've only rated it 2☆ as today I've realised (along with 4 other people) that I have been paying for a bank holiday swimming lessons for the last 12 month's!! These lessons do not go ahead on bank holidays!! I was told when I signed up for DD payment that they would automatically take these off (ok so I should check my statements) wich they have not,and have no intention of doing.so I am due a refund of around £25. I dread to think how many other people across the Freedom leisure centres,do not know about this,and have been charged for lessons their kid's are not having! This should be made clear to all parents who's children have lessons on a Monday, that they have to fill in a form for reimbursement for this money after the bank holidays!! I'm sure administration could sort this out so the payments are not taken in the first place!!

I asked for some information at the centre and no-one could tell me the prices or times of swimming lessons- very odd! Wanted to know also if lessons through the medium of Welsh were offered.



Have e-mailed three different e-mail addresses found on the website- no answer! Facebook messaged now so will be interesting to see if I get a reply!

Disappointed as last Monday gym with Lorraine pics had gone up from £2.70 to over £4, and as finances are tight may well have to stop coming to this or AS A with Lorraine, can't understand why they can't be the same for both.

We have just had our sons 1st birthday party hiring the swimming pool. What a fantastic experience, the facility was perfect as it catered for every age group as well as the staff especially the management went out of their way to cater for all of our needs. We can't thank you enough. Absolutely brilliant

We have had a lovely day today the staff were approachable and friendly facilities appropriate and the swimming pool was amazing my daughter loved every minute. Thank you

Love it since the improvements and go four times a week. Lorraine is a great help in the Functional Lite and Tim makes the Pilates sessions great fun. The only complaint is that the AAA is not included in the monthly pass and as this is not an Exercise on Prescription class but a regular session for older and/or disabled members this seems most unfair. It discriminates against us, the majority of whom are retired people. It means those of us unable to pay the extra money on top of the monthly pass can no longer go. Lorraine has been inspirational to many of us who have suffered ill health in a variety of ways and it is short sighted of whoever has made this decision to put us into an either/or situation. When I first attended Lorraine's classes several years ago she motivated me at a time of physical disability, pain and depression. That motivation and help enabled me to go to work abroad at the age of 66 and work there for nearly 8 years in very difficult circumstances. It is a great disappointment to return and find that at aged 75 I am expected for no good reason, to pay extra above the membership cost if I want to take part in this really valuable session.

Just love this pool we regularly swim here with our 3 children. It takes us a good 45 minutes to get here but definately worth it. Life guards are fab very on the ball and alert but also friendly. Reception staff are lovely too. Highly recommended it 5*

Great overall improvement at the Flash with new facilities over the last few months. I occasionally attend (should to go more) spinning classes with "Amy" and there excellent. Keep up the good work. ÔøΩÔøΩ

First time I've ever been to a gym and was a bit apprehensive but absolutely loved it. Lovely new gym, friendly staff and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Been great when I've been home from University - offers great deals on monthly memberships for everything I need & the staff are fantastic.

A huge thanks for the Flash for putting on a distant award swimming session this morning. Both my boys are so proud of their efforts in achieving 1,250m & 2,300m badges - and rightly so! It would be great to see this happening again. A little costly though when more than one child wishes to attend!

Take the grandkids here swimming every month when at the caravan, great facilities. Water in the pool could be a tad warmer and the showers are too hot for kids

Had a fab reception after bringing my disabled step daughter the first time yesterday. Nothing was too much trouble with a special chair brought to us. We came back today and although freindly, we couldnt access the disabled changing room as one was being used and other out of order. No chair brought to us and not same reception although lady did come up and give us a ball to play with. Bit of a change from yesterday but still come again. Good access to pool as there were no steps. Normally good changing facilities for disabled. Very impressed. Good prices to with 2 carers and adult for £3.20! See ypu soon!!!!!

Please could we swim in a pool that is not soo hot. There have been so many improvements to the Flash and I love it. The staff are friendly, polite and welcoming. The early morning start to the swim and exercise classes are a superb way to start the day. The only blip, pool too hot! From a loyal customer.

Can’t really put more than 3 stars due to how filthy the changing room floors and toilets are. shame cos the actual pool is a nice one to swim in. Literally felt like I neeeded to wear protective footwear when entering and leaving the pool..yuk.

water is very cold took our little one the other day and she was shivering only stayed in for 20mins even went up to jacuzzi thinking it wud b warmer not much different was disappointed can't u turn temperature up?

We visited The swimming pool at the end of February and found that yet again the changing rooms and floors were filthy. The family changing room is a disabled toilet and very basic and again floor filthy. I made a complaint via the website the following day and requested a response but as of yet, still no reply. I was also very disappointed to see the food hygiene rating is a 2. The swimming pool is perfect for our 2 year old with the walk in area as gives her some independence to splash around safely but we feel completely put off by the lack of basic cleanliness.

Was very disappointed to find both lifts out of order tonight so no wheelchair access into the building!!!! The indoor lift has been out of order for over 2 months!!!!!!

The 2 stars is based solely on Tumble Towers Soft Play Area.





Last time we go to Tumble Towers at The Flash. Last 2 times we have been I have complained because of how dirty the place was. Not once was I offered a refund and they said on both occasions they would close it and get it deep cleaned. Went again this morning at 9.30 and asked the receptionist if it had been deep cleaned as promised, she looked at me like I was mental and said "I don't know, ask the managers over there". I asked 2 blokes and they said yes it had been deep cleaned recently. We were probably the first ones in there at 9.30 and it was exactly the same as the previous times we visited. I don't know what their idea of deep cleaning is but clumps of hair and dust and food is not deep cleaned (I have photos) and my son was crawling around grabbing handfuls of dirt. It's disgusting. Also the fabric on the stairs has still not been repaired and dangerous for the kids going up and down them.
