About Flintshire Wildlife & Pet Rescue

Hello!
My parents, Joy & Elfyn Pierce-Jones, my partner& I, run & own a small family run animal rescue called Flintshire Wildlife & Pet Rescue, in Holywell

Flintshire Wildlife & Pet Rescue Description

Flintshire Wildlife & Pet Rescue is a small rescue centre owned & run by Joy & Elfyn Pierce-Jones. The admin of this page is their daughter and is very hands on with helping her parents out with all of the animals.

Based in Holywell, North Wales the rescue is our home. We have over 100 animals here ranging from Domestic, Farm, Reptiles & Wildlife. Each animal is loved, cared for and always has their needs met.
We sell cats / kittens, dogs / puppies, reptiles, cage birds, chickens / ducks, hamsters, ferrets / polecats, rabbits / guinea pigs. We DO NOT sell the owls we rescue.

We do shows to schools / colleges, OAP homes, 999 Days / village fares etc. We will bring a small selection of animals with us to these shows to educate people on what is on this Earth with us / what we're trying to save. To shows where we need stalls, we'll bring a small selection of animals again as well as some things to sell to help raise money for our furry family! We do ask for a fee of £50 to do shows /talks!

We're always grateful to those of you who donate old towels / blankets for bedding, bowls / collars / leads / toys / cages & food for our animals, it's always a massive help and the animals, if they could speak English, would thank you too!

If you need any advice / would like to donate or need our help rescuing something, please either ring us on 01352 712345 or contact me on here. We'll get back to you as soon as we can.
Thank you for your support, Joy, Elfyn & Bethan. x

Thank you to the lady who brought us some donations for the Rabbits & Guinea Pigs this morning! What a lovely surprise ☺️💚

Well our very friendly boys, Toffee & Nibbles the Guinea Pigs, went to meet a potential family this evening and the bond they created with their new little owner was so strong that they’re moving in tomorrow!! 🥳🥰

Spot the hedgehogs! 🦔
Here we have our new spikey residents, Mrs Tiggywinkle & her 4 children. Two of the babies were found in a gentleman’s shed yesterday, supposedly alone he asked if we could take them in to help them, of course we agreed. But to all of our surprise, Mummy & 2 other siblings were found also! So to be on the safe side that everyone is healthy & happy they came to us yesterday afternoon.
... Mrs Tiggywinkle, as we’ve called her, is a wonderful Mother & is gaining a good amount of weight too. Each baby is learning how to be wild really well, still got time to learn everything, eating well and are on track for their weights!
Thankfully there are no injuries, no nasty fly eggs & no nasty ticks either so they’re all doing well!

Not the prettiest of photos because chicks are messy especially after eating! 🐦 These 4 never ending hungry beaks to feed came to us yesterday evening! They were found orphaned and hungry so they were thankfully saved & rushed to us by a very nice couple. They’re eating really well, doing everything they should & we can only hope the progress continues as it is doing!

A big thank you to Kirsty & her family for their handmade tortoise table they donated this evening! Never seen one so cleverly crafted before thank you! 💚

The biggest of thank you’s to the lovely Dawn & her family for their donations this morning!! We are so overwhelmed by the pure generosity towards our animals & the rescue itself. We will be back to pick up the hutch tomorrow with any luck!
Thank you 💚

We would like to say a big thank you to Sandra for her lovely donation this morning! It will certainly help towards the next dog food shop! 💚

Big thank you to Sue for the wonderful single tier hutch donation which we collected today! Perfect size for what we need ☺️💚

Successful Hedgehog release yesterday, plenty of good places to hide & find food for him. Didn’t even turn back to look at us! 🦔💚

Appropriately named Lucky, this little Blue Tit Chick crash landed into the front of the Bank Of America in Chester Business Park this evening. Thankfully a very lovely gentleman who works there popped him into a box & his partner got in touch with us for help. Off we went to collect him, slight strain to one leg but has perfect grip, movement & knows how to do everything he needs to. Letting him settle now after his feed, fingers crossed Lucky continues his Lucky strike! 🤞🏻💚

Last night this little one was found wandering in Presthaven Sands! One eye is a little sore & was shut this morning but is clear & open now. Toileting fine, eating & drinking and moving perfectly so with any luck everything will continue to go well & a release can happen when this little fluff ball is older.
Big thanks to the security guard who cared for the baby throughout the night, my boyfriend & also my best friend who work there for caring for the baby today whilst they had breaks at work. Without you 3 anything could’ve happened! 💚

* did have a video but it won’t let us upload hence the belated post *
9 Mallard Ducklings arrived yesterday evening from Buckley after their Mother bolted and never returned. They were saved & looked after by a gentleman who had found them in his garden until he could bring them to us. They are happily chirping away & have enjoyed a good feed last night as well as breakfast this morning! With any luck they continue to thrive as they are currently doing & will be released when able to survive on their own 🥰 🦆

First Hoglet of the year for us! 🦔 After coming back off holiday the people who brought this one in had a shock to find the baby in their garden completely alone! He / she is super feisty, which is great, and has just had a feed before settling in for the evening. With any luck he / she will grow up nicely with a good weight & can be released when he / she is old enough ☺️💚

Our two new lodgers that have arrived today!
Ken (Dodd) the Robin chick arrived earlier today after a fall from the nest. He’s got no injuries but is extremely young & very hungry! Freddie (Starr) the Gold Finch was found walking in the road this evening by Flint Castle and is too young to fly so was picked up & whisked away to us for care. No injuries either!
... These two will stay with us until they’re able to survive in the wild & will then be released ☺️

Bobby-Jay the Jackdaw has just arrived! He fell out of his nest on top of a house and with no way of being able to put him back up there he’s been brought to us for care. No injuries whatsoever, just very young & vulnerable. He’s very, very young & will be with us for a while as his feathers are only just starting to come through.
He’s had a feed & is now sleeping settling down to all the different noises at the mad house 😂 (he also calls back to my French Bulldog when she barks!)
