Fly Paddles

Welcome to Fly Paddles a bespoke paddle maker based in Snowdonia, North Wales.

Rhys Watkin has been a keen paddler for many years and has recently been working towards his BCU Level 2 Coaching Qualification. He has a real passion for it and you will normally find him paddling the River Dee on his days off. Combining his interest for wood work and paddling Rhys has set up his own business, Fly Paddles, making bespoke wood paddles using a variety of wood, depending on its intended use. In the near future he will also be able to make custom combinations on paddle shapes and wood.

All our paddles are handcrafted in our home based in Snowdonia, North Wales, using locally sourced wood. The options we have to create a beautiful paddle just for you include:

Wood: Ash, Cherry, Sapele, Black Walnut and Cedar.

Paddle Blade: Ottertail, Beavertail, Whitwater and Voyageur.

All our paddles are finished off with Danish Oil which is both waterproof and protects the paddle. Your paddle will be carefully packed along with your warranty and care guidelines.
