Four elms has to be the most shocking surgery ever. You cannot make appointments in advance it's just call on the morning at 8.30 I call non stop from 8.27 onwards and the phone is always busy it's just ending one call an calling them back non stop 100+ times on an average morning! I've also been told that if your on the doorstep at 8.30 they will boom you in there an then my son was in need to see a GP today phone was engaged as usual but I kept trying as I walked to the GP to get one at 8.30 like i was advised I arrived at 8.35 no-one was at the desk and surgery was dead not a single patient insight? So please explain to me then how I was told all appointments were gone 5 minutes after surgery opened whilst I was in the phone que as well as I walked there.... NOW I tell you what I think happens the receptionists book all there family in the appointments to save them having to go through this it's an absolute JOKE that's what I've heard anyway! An to top it off I stressed how poor I think there system is to be told they only have one doctor on!!!

Well four elms you need to pull your fingers out of your arses then! You are a bigger surgery than Tongwynlais which is in a small village YET they take appointments and have 2 doctors working to get through ill patients

very inefficient appointment system practically impossible to get appointments and organize your work around it.

So basically if you work at 9-6pm basis
you get up and get ready for work and you leave your home at 7:30-8:00am as soon as 8:30 you have to start calling to book an appointment.
you will have only 20-30 minutes to get an appointment if you are lucky to get trough (lines busy al the time) and you come to work and as for a day of. Your Bosses reaction "why would ask me 2-3 day ago?"
Because my GP run by morons?!

This surgery kills more people than it heals

Today I've been rejected an entire list of repeat medications and told me "you need to be seen", I said "alright, book me an appointment then", they told me to phone at 8:30am, and everyone knows this method never works... I'm now going abroad for 4 weeks for the trip of my lifetime, without any of my regular medications...

Absolutely hopeless appointments system

you can only book appointments for the day itself, not in advance, and they open at 8:30am every morning, if you start ringing from 8:25am it takes about 20 minutes before you get through, and by that time all the appointments for that day would be gone.

they offer telephone service where the doctor phones you back and talk to you on the phone, but that doctor often tells you to make an actual appointment to see them which is impossible more often than not.

the NHS cant really blame people for calling 999 for non emergency cases if patients simply cant get to their GPs.

Service was great i had a choice of 2 doctors surgeries to attend Newport Road or Pengam Green which enabled me to get an appointment sooner

I am staying in Cardiff and I need help with dressing after a little op . Just spoke to someone on the phone and they were a very big help to me and got me booked in to have my dressing changed. So mean I can have a great stay in Cardiff.
