Freedom Saddlery Description
Your saddle is THE most important bit of kit you use with your horse. . . . but often the one that is overlooked the most.
How often do we really check it fits him properly? Most people know the 'three finger' clearance of the pommel: spine, but what about width of tree that may be causing atropy of the muscle around the scapula? Too narrow a gullet could be affecting lateral and longitunal suppleness. And could your saddle length be exceeding the last rib at T18 and causing pain? Is the tree in good shape? How symmetrical are the panels? Any lumps or gaps in flocking? A horse can feel a fly, therefore it is critical the we ensure his saddle is made as comfortable as possible to distribute our weight.
Freedom Saddlery has been created to advise on the fit of your saddle, and the impact it will have on your horses way of going. Let's face it, hearing you need a different saddle is never news you want to believe. Freedom will clearly explain why and how if this is the case. All recommendations are documented and a full evaluation process is part of the standard consultation. And Freedom will support you through WHICHEVER channel of purchase you prefer to take.
Freedom Saddlery is unique as I carry no 'stock'. If you need a new saddle you are free as to how you source it - I can help but only if you specifically request!
If you do wish to purchase through Freedom, a full evaluation takes place and profiles taken. A discussion around the styles and type you prefer (and which will be best for your horse) and discussion will also take place with the manufacturer you prefer.
This is not a quick process. But a better process to ensure the correct saddle for your horse.
And your horse will change shape! ! All saddles need to be checked for fit on an ongoing basis as part of your holistic horsecare programme.
