About Gatehouse Holiday Cottage
Holiday cottage located in Painscastle mid way Hay-On-Wye and Builth Wells. Sleeps up to six in characterful traditional Welsh cottage.
Gatehouse Holiday Cottage Description
Gatehouse is a four bedroomed cottage in the small historic village of Painscastle. It wasn't always as it is now! Originally a small but perfectly formed stone house built around 1700 and then known as Shop House. Since the turn of the century it has been a hive of crafting activity namely carpentry then blacksmithing and now a combination of both! The idea for a holiday cottage has come about by a desire for us to share with you the wonderful joys of this area. . . beautiful rolling moorland, mountains and rivers as well as bustling lively towns like Hay-On-Wye. Come and experience walking, riding and cycling all on the doorstep, as is The Roast Ox Inn, a fantastic pit stop for all enjoying outdoor and indoor pursuits! Please contact me for prices and availability and watch this space for snippits from the Welsh Borders!

If you're looking for accommodation during Hay Festival this year Gatehouse is available. Sleeps six, fifteen minutes from Hay and if you don't fancy cooking there's a great pub opposite!

Great article on Painscastle and the Begwyns today in the travel section of The Guardian. Praise for the countryside and The Roast Ox Inn, both of which I can recommend and one of which Gatehouse is right opposite!
