GD Informal Education is a small North Wales based start-up enterprise of professionally qualified and experienced youth and community workers, specialising in the development and delivery of Forum Theatre, Global Youth Work and Forest School programmes along with support, consultancy and training services to the youth work sector and community organisations. Our mission statement is: To operate a socially responsible, sustainable and environmentally conscious enterprise providing educational, training and consultancy services and provision in order to meet the following outcomes: - Support children and young people to be the most fulfilled human beings they can possibly be in a world of peace, equity and justice. - Support individuals and agencies that work with children and young people to develop and improve education and learning practices in order to achieve humanitarianism and sustainable development. We are committed to the values and principles of: Education; Rights; Sustainable development; Voluntary participation; Empowerment; Equality of opportunity; Effecting change; Reflective practice and Continuing professional development; Fun and enjoyment. We aim to engage learners in a process of personal, social and educational development in line with the Youth Work curriculum statement for Wales and National Occupational Standards for youth work; promoting inclusion, equity and young people's interests and welfare. We own and operate Nant y Glyn Forest School in Colwyn Bay.
