Films lined up for November, December and January for your diary... I'm genuinely hopeless at guessing these (unless i Google key names!) So can anyone help? Cinema Club are not allowed to name the films (for licensing reasons) but we're allowed to guess!!

We have installed a three seater captain's bench made of recyclable materials (which will require no painting nor maintenance) in the garden of Glanynant, near Pengam lights.

We attended a very interesting, engaging and poignant Armistice Assembly today presented by the pupils of Dosbarth 5, Derwendeg Primary School. Chair Cllr Judith Pritchard is pictured with Falklands War veteran Mr Mark Hiscutt, who served on board HMS Sheffield, which was the first of four Royal Navy warships to be lost in the conflict. Mr Hiscutt lost 21 friends on that fateful day, 4th May 1982. The ceramic poppy, which featured as part of the art installation at the Tower ...of London "Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red" back in 2014 to commemorate the centenary of the start of WW1, was gifted by Mr Hiscutt to the Community Council. We in turn framed it alongside the history of HMS Sheffield, its certificate of authenticity and photos of the art installation. Thank you to Derwendeg Primary School for such a memorable and thought provoking assembly and to Mr Hiscutt for your gift and for sharing your experience with us.

Ystrad Mynach Toilet Following some refurbishment work, today Vice Chair Cllr Teresa Parry cut the toilet roll (instead of ribbon) to officially open the toilets at Ystrad Mynach town centre alongside Cllr Martyn James, Cllr Alan Angel and Cllr Wynne David. Here are some before and after pics. We hope people will help us to look after the facility. And it comes just in time for Christmas shopping!! Thanks to Rob Voyle and his team for pulling this off and Gleam Cleaning Services who will keep it looking spik and span.

Cefn Hengoed and Hengoed Memorial, Derwendeg Primary School Just spent a couple of hours weeding and laying cotswold stone chippings at our memorial. So it's all looking neat and ready for our Armistice service.
