For puppies up to 6 months... 10am every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the Month For puppies 6 months - 12 Months 11am every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the Month
... Bring your puppies for 1 hour of socialisation and fun. Mixing with other puppies and their owners. Lots of fun activities for them to do and a quiet section for those pups that are a little shy. Happy to answer any puppy parenting questions you may have.

A weekend workshop for dogs that bark on lead at other dogs.
Saturday 10th Nov 10am - 1pm owners only Sunday 11th Nov 10am - 2pm practical with dogs.
... This workshop will help you achieve more relaxing, enjoyable walks for both you and your dog. Walking a dog that barks and pulls towards other dogs can be extremely stressful, especially as people can make harsh judgements.
On day one (Sat) Theory.
Information on reasons for dog reactivity and how the dog feels. How through this workshop you will be able to start changing your dog's emotional responses. We will discuss our dogs and share experiences. Talk about our own anxieties and how that impacts on the dogs behaviour. You will be shown training for you and your dog, management tools and emergency get outs. I will have well balanced dogs there to enable you to practice some training. Refreshments provided.
On Day two (Sun) Practical.
This is where we bring your dogs into the class. Your dog must be happy to spend breaks in your car or a crate in a different area to you. Some will be working with their dog whilst others observe to feedback then swap over. Gradually more will be introduced into the group until everyone is working their dogs together. (Various distances needed for each dog) We will be using a large 4 acre field and an Indoor training barn.
The progress and training on the class will vary dependent on the dogs we have attending but each dog (and owner)will have their individual needs met.

Puppy next steps

A night of calm and play for the dogs terrified of fireworks. Gentle paws is in a very quiet location and rarely are fireworks heard close by. Using the training barn, there will be lots of calming activities for you to enjoy with your dog and some social play.
A warm drink will be available for owners too.

We took our puppy Pippa to puppy beginner classes and both thoroughly enjoyed it. Pippa is full of energy and we were shown lots of fun ways to interact and teach her new skills whilst still keeping it fun. Pippa loved it and we loved it as we learnt loads of new things that have helped us to train Pippa in to being a lovely friendly and obedient dog as she grows up. We loved it so much we are going to continue and have already booked on to the next course. We were first time dog owners so the tips and tricks we have learnt were invaluable and I would recommend to anyone with a new puppy.

We contacted Gentle Paws as a last resort having considered not being able to keep our dog due to aggression.

Sharron was amazing from the moment we met her. She helped us understand why we were experiencing the aggression issues and really put us at ease to see we could train our dog to be a happier, less nervous dog.

Sharron made everything make sense and very clear how to help change our dogs behaviour. I couldn’t recommend Sharron or her methods more.

Love the idea of quiet fireworks night, wish I wasn't so far away....

Lola. An unwanted ex breeding girl who was so scared she couldn't allow herself to be handled without biting or soiling herself. She had a deep distrust of humans and her fight or flight instinct was very strong, she was constantly in survival mode and terribly stressed and unhappy. Heartbreaking....but with Sharron's help, advice and kindness and a lot of patience we have come such a long way as you can see from the photo on my post. We still have a way to go but with Sharron and Gentle Paws on hand I have absolutely no doubt we will get there. Sharron is one of the most amazing people I have ever met, she has helped me with so many different problems and has the perfect balance of both sense and sensitivity. She has rescued and rehabilitated many dogs herself so has a wealth of experience and the many many hours of training she has done is backed up by substantial hands on work with many different breeds and issues. She is fearless and takes on situations many would shy away from with enthusiasm and confidence. I have learned a lot from rescuing dogs but sometimes have come across situations I need help with. Sharron is always there always willing to help always calming and reassuring. I would thoroughly recommend her to anyone who needs help with any aspect of dog behaviour or training. You need never look any further than Gentle Paws for help.
