Some ideas for garden lighting

We maybe all stuck at home for the moment but with all this spare time, you could plan your new electrical projects and I can in some cases price it up from photos. We are available for vulnerable people with urgent electrical problems throughout.

So, I’ve been self isolating since Monday but have a vulnerable woman with learning difficulties. She moved into a rental property last week but has no cooker or washing machine connected. She is very distressed so I’m going to connect them up for her. She will be in a different room while I carryout the work and I will be wearing a mask and have the appropriate hand sanitiser. Thoughts?

The government has announced that from July 1st 2020, all new private tenancies in England will need to ensure that electrical installations are inspected and tested by a qualified person before the tenancy begins.
Under the new rules, the landlord will have to ensure that the insta...llation is inspected and tested at least every five years. For existing tenancies, an electrical safety test will need to be carried out by 1 April 2021, with regular tests following this.
All properties across the private rented sector, including HMOs, are subject to the new regulations. The regulations will replace the existing requirements for HMOs regarding electrical installation testing and inspection.
Once the electrical installation has been tested, the landlord must ensure they receive a written report from the person conducting the inspection, which includes the results and the required date for the next inspection then supply a copy of this report to each existing tenant living in the property within 28 days of the inspection.

If you are buying a house please ensure you get an electrical installation condition report before agreeing a purchase. This should be done before every sale and on every change of ownership or change of tenancy for landlords.

New legislation coming in April 2020 for landlords to have their properties electrically checked for safety. About time too!!!

Smoke alarms should be changed when the manufacturers instructions indicate. Modern ones can last 10 years but it worth checking them now to assure they are still working correctly. If you would like us to check/change them, then send us a message and we’ll be happy to help.
