About Glasfryn

Pub restaurant serving great quality beer, wine and food.

Glasfryn Description

Glasfryn is a busy pub that draws from far and wide – all along the north Wales coast, down from the Wirral, and all points south and east. You’ll find an interesting mix of locals – farmers, local businessmen, young couples, retired people, regulars, market goers: there’s always an interesting buzz about the place, and locals and visitors alike seem to rub along very happily. Oh, and there are some stunning views from the sunny terrace. . . .

Just a few cheeky shots of some of the new dishes this month, all delicious and new on the menu or very shortly on their way😋 (Creamy garlic mushrooms/crab&crayfish fritters/smoked salmon cheesecake/halloumi&falafel salad/sicilian fish stew/Malaysian chicken/Prawn&chorizo linguine/Quiche/Herb crusted hake/Bakewell tart)

User

Our favourite Gin at the moment has been chosen! This time round we have chosen Japanese distiller Suntory and their wonderfully tasty 'Roku' Gin, with botanicals including cinnamon, cardomon and yuzu peel this is a perfect Autumn drink, we like ours with ginger ale and fresh lime at the minute, it really helps keep out the Autumn chill😀🍁🍂 (Available with Britvic or Fevertree tonics or ginger ales, the choice is yours!)

User

We know it's early September and we are certainly not wishing the year away but those with panto plans might be interested to know we are taking Bookings and our Christmas Fayre menu will be available from 1st December! What can I say. Second Saturday on the trot and again the food, the company, the staff, the locals and the beer, all exceptional. Last weeks lamb shoulder and this weeks feathered beef followed by cheese platter. On a score out of five, this kip gets six. It’s that good. I can heartily recommend it to anyone.

User

We were here yesterday and both ordered the roast. It was very tasty and the varied veg selection was delicious. What was disappointing was no children's menu. We ordered a light bite smaller plate roast for my 4 yr old granddaughter but this was far too big. A little overwhelmed by it all she went on to leave most of it. Just a thought for those of us who eat out with little people.

User

We had a fantastic experience as a group of 4, it was really busy and we thought service would be slow.

But surprisingly service was very good we served by very attentive staff

User

The fifth visit and never been disappointed, the service, the food and the surroundings deserve five stars. I had the top side beef that was lovely and tender my only comment was it could of done with a little more beef but then perhaps I am bit greedy .

User

The Glasfryn is quite simply a lovely place to eat & drink. You have a great menu to pick from ,the service is first class as are the cask ales available ,go on give it a whirl

User

Lovely friendly atmosphere with a traditional ambience and open fires during the winter months. Can get busy at times with theatre goers so it would be advisable to book if arriving early evening. Menu is very good, but very limited on steak choices (rump only) but the quality of food is fantastic, Starters and mains are slightly more expensive than some other places but as a treat or special occasion its well worth it. I would certainly recommend Glasfryn

User

Just had to say being a very hard to please customer due to diet issues. I had a lovely meal and wasn’t made to feel I was being a pain. The girl looking after us was so nice even asked was there anything I wanted that wasn’t on the menu if it helped. Can’t praise them enough. Coming again later this month so looking forward to it. Thanks. Liz

User

Go here often. Lovely food, nice staff, lovely restaurant, sat outside in the garden it is a suntrap with stunning views..

User

Fantastic roast yesterday. Couldn’t fault a thing. Extremely good food and wine. Yes it may be a little more expensive than other places but this is reflected in the quality of the food. Beautiful setting, even in the February weather (hailstones and sleet ) I would highly recommend this place

User

Excellent, fantastic views and there was a great choice on the menu which was much better than some other Brunning & Price establishments

The food we had was lovely, 3 of us were there for almost 3 hours catching up

User

Beautiful place .. lots goin on... great selection of fine food n drinks Xx

User

Amazing food decent size portions. Friendly staff.

User

Hubby and I had lunch there yesterday.... he had lamb, I had chicken with 'haggis cake', neeps and tatties in barley broth!.... lamb was lovely but I Wasn't keen on mine, chicken was nice but the haggis cake was wierd.... I didn't like it.... 1 main each and 2 drinks each cost £50...... so it was ok but an expensive quick lunch.

User

Had chicken and leak pie, it was served exceptionally quickly which should be good I guess but the pastry was exceptionally hard. Made me wonder if reheated more than once ?

Nice location, staff friendly.

User

Called in for lunch but unfortunately they were having a problem with the gas so were only able to offer a limited menu. Would have liked the baked Camembert to start but they couldn’t cook it ended up with pate which was nice although strangely served with slices of bread, don’t know why it wasn’t toasted? Had the beef for main which was very nice although found the potatoes very salty, followed by Creme brûlée . Total for two people was £60 so not a cheap lunch. Will visit again but not if the gas is off again as would like to be able to choose from the full menu.

User

Beautiful pub with stunning views. This was my first time here. As I've just joined Slimming World, I thought the healthiest option would be to have a Sunday roast, being as it was Sunday when I went. I assumed that it would come with a jug of gravy which I could pour myself where I wanted. Despite not wanting goodness knows how many 'syns' on my plate, I am quite fussy where my gravy goes. When I don't care how many calories I'm consuming, I don't like my Yorkshire getting soggy from gravy and use it just to keep the meat moist. So imagine my horror when my meal arrives and the whole plate is swimming in gravy! Presentation and tastiness of the veg was lovely, but it was gravy overkill. Any sauce I would have thought is personal as to where and how much an individual puts on their plate, so I was disappointed that I wasn't given this option, hence only 3 stars. Would have been 5 otherwise.

User

Went a few weeks ago with a friend we both had the steak sandwich but the steak was so tough neither of us could even cut it with a knife never mind chew it. Thought I would give it another chance and went last night. Had the roast chicken wrap and there was a chicken bone in it. Think I will give it a miss from now on

User

Attractive place and friendly staff but it was quiet and the staff appeared to be ready to close by 10.45. Felt as if they were waiting for us to leave !

User

Wont be going back used to be a great spot. I dont know what has happened.
