Ruthin Golf Club giving a talk about Lasting Power's of Attorney to a U3A group.
Happy Mothers Day to all of my followers who are Mums.
YouGov survey reveals that only 7% of people have made a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA). This is a legal document that nominates someone to make important financial and health decisions if you are no longer capable of doing so yourself.
For a quality, value for money service costing £150 per LPA plus court registration fees, message me for an appointment. In home appointments available.
Find out why I am speaking to this group about why they need to talk to me if they have a teddy bear in their house. The one in my hand was given to me the day I was born . . . you are allowed to comment on that below :-)
If you haven't made a Will because you think that your spouse will get everything in the event of your death read the next sentence carefully! Without a Will your spouse will receive the first £250,000 of your sole assets then 50% of the remainder with your children sharing the other 50%.
Let's assume your house is in your name only and worth £250,000, you have £300,000 of other assets and 3 children. Your spouse would be able to retain ownership of the house and £150,000. Each of your children would be entitled to £50,000. Now imagine each of your children with £50,000 at the age of 18. Is now the perfect time to contact me?
We love finding you ways to save inheritance tax (IHT) 👍http://www.telegraph.co.uk/…/famili es-turn-pensions-avoid-d…
This is a good beginners article on some little known tax savings for married couples...and not the newly married as the image and title imply! Covers income tax, share dividends, a bit of Capital gains tax and even a smidgen of stamp duty for the bank of mum and dad!
Two types of Lasting Power Of Attorney: 1. Property and Finance - so that someone you know and trust can take care of your finances e.g. pay bills and look after savings. 2. Health and Welfare - so that someone you know and trust can make decisions about your day-to-day health care and medical treatments.
I can provide you with both LPA's for the price that a typical high street solicitor charges for one.
NEW LAW COULD SAVE YOUR KIDS £130,000! If this law is passed and applies to inheritance tax, then it's a great piece of law. This means that once registered, non married couples will be able to benefit from the transferable nil rate bands. Meaning a potential saving of up to £130,000 in inheritance tax.
