Great historic hotel.
I have nothing but good words to say about the Grand. For £70 B&B for a family sea view room is an absolute steal. Yes, the decor is tired, the bathroom suite looks from 1990, the bar and ballroom is stuck in a time freeze from 1980... but that’s what makes it great and unique. If you want a modern room with a queen size bed, swimming pool and a posh bar then there are plenty to choose from, all identical and look like all the hotels you have visited in the past - just expect to pay 50% - 125% more.
Clean room, helpful staff and the best location in Llandudno.
It's a shame... This hotel should be living up to its name; but regrettably not. "Shabby" and "Dated" do not even begin to describe it. Its location is magnificent: it towers over the promenade at the North Beach in Llandudno. But its grandiose ends there. In its hay days it must have been a brilliant hotel; now its a lame duck trying to remain afloat - courtesy of dining staff who are trying their hardest to make the accommodation experience a great one.
The reality though, is: however much you polish a turd, it remains exactly that.

Absolutely awful..dirty windows, cracked dirty tiles in the bathroom, tired and outdated decor with one small wardrobe with a door that wouldn't close and only 2 plug sockets.
The whole place had an air of neglect and a feeling of total carelessness by the owner and the staff about the state of the place and the service provided. Parking was a nightmare with no help whatsoever from the staff.
Would NEVER go there again and would not recommend it to anyone. Would give it 0/5 if possible but can't post without 1 star. This is an honest review please for your own sake ignore anyone giving this place a 4 or 5 star rating as it is not anywhere near this.
Had a super break, view from huge seafront balcony was fantastic with the extra mild weather for October. All staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating with whatever was needed as I am disabled. Food (choice and quality) was good. Everything was catered for if you did not wish to leave the hotel from breakfast, events through the day to entertainment before bedtime. Plus really close to the miriad of wonderful shops, eateries and attractions. I was really pleased with our stay and would recommend other visitors to stay.
What a fantastic setting with amazing views....
However very disappointed in service. The bar staff uniform was filthy. We ordered food. Fish, chips and mushy peas with bread and butter... We carried our food to our table only to find the bread to be mouldy, the fish was greasy and the chips were cold... We asked for our money back... the girl with the filthy dirty uniform tried to tell us the bread was fresh... not impressed had to click one star otherwise won't let me post
A lovely place to stay, with lots of activities on and nea..r the sight. With the ski lift to the top of the Orm literally a few yards away.
The town centre is close as well, recommended probably for the more mature adults
Old, dirty and smelly hotel! Fresh bedding and towels are just thrown on the carpet outside your room, before they get changed - not very hygienic! Just take a stroll through any corridor abouat about 9am to check! Queried this at reception, just to be told this is so they can turn rooms around bit quicker! Well, I will not be returning!
Lovely place been ,6 or 7 times sorry I couldn't get in this time as booked up, popular compared with other places . Views from bedrooms very nice. Food can be good mostly.
Good location next to the pier. Could do with a bit of a spruce up, but the "faded splendour", is actually part of it's attraction. Trying to find somewhere to park is a bit of a nightmare, but the hotel, along with Llandudno, is well worth a visit.
