Thor is a 4 year old castrated fawn dog with a black mask. He is lovely with adults but has not lived with children. He is wary of some people but been a delight here. He is really good on a lead and obedient. He is not very fond of small dogs when first meeting them. This dog really deserves a kind but firm breed experienced home so he can come into his own. A credit to his owners, would live with a quiet bitch or on his own, urban but best rural home. Please contact the rescue if you are interested in adopting Thor.

Lilly is a wonderful natured 8 year old harlequin spayed bitch who has come in due to a bereavement. She has had limited exercise but is lively and has helped a young dog settle in very quickly. She was an only bitch and used to being left for short periods. She has been very good with all ages of people, other dogs and cats, she is a gentle loving girl. Ideally she needs to go to an experienced home where walking short distances is the norm. She would happily live with another dog in a family of older children or an adult only home, Lilly is very good on the lead. This is a real rescue case who has no idea that she is an older bitch. Urban or rural she is just as happy. Please contact the rescue if you are interested in adopting Lilly.

Lilley will be looking for a home shortly after she has been spayed
She is a 3.5 year old fawn bitch with a shy yet loving temperament. She has reared puppies and lived with other dogs but is a bit shy so will appreciate TLC and maybe better on her own or with an older dog.
She hasn't lived with cats but is good with people of all ages. She is from an urban area but quite at home in the countryside.
... Sadly handed in due to a bereavement. If you have the time and patience to bring her on to show her full potential than please apply, you will need some breed experience, a secure home. and have time for her.
All of our danes available for rescue are #PoweredByBurns Burns Pet Nutrition dog food.

Kudos to Gordon and Liz Great Dane Care. Both drove 2 hours to Bath and 2 hrs home to Carmarthen yesterday to pick up a dog for rehoming. I joined them today to pick up 3 more dogs. They took 2, I took 1 who pooed in my car after 10 mins drive. Rather than risk stressing a very nervy dog further, I drove back to Carmarthen 2 hrs with windows open. Gordon and Liz have taken in 4 dogs from 1 house and driven 8 hours in 2 days. As most of you know they are not teenagers. Huge kudos to www.great-dane-care.org.uk my car is clean and smelling ok once more. These Danes once assessed and neutered will be matched up with loving waiting homes very soon.

How fabulous is this!?
Looks like Welsh superstar Luke Evans is a fan of Danes!
The Great Dane in the photo is a 9 year old named Fred. Fred was rehomed by us to a friend of Luke’s in 2016. From rescue dog to hobnobbing with the stars!
... Adopting a Dane really can change their lives.

Hector is a handsome 15 month old castrated blue boy, he is a very good boy all round, however is worried by some tall teenage boys so an experienced adult home where his training can be continued would be best.
Hector is fantastic with other dogs and enjoying playing nicely in the field here. He is a gentle boy who goes well on a head collar and enjoys his walks, he has not lived with cats or any other small animals. He also enjoys playing with humans to! His favourite toy... is an empty Kong to bounce around.
This dog would make a great addition to any household and anyone with a rural home, time and patience, would be ideal. He could be homed with an older bitch. Please consider Hector if he fits your criteria, a smashing boy who knows all basic commands and is whistle trained! All of our rescues are fed on Burns Pet Nutrition Hector is #PoweredByBurns

Did you watch Top 100 Dogs last night? Great Danes came in ranked at 29!
If you think Danes are number one and would like to adopt one why not consider Gus?
Gus is an over weight 4 year old black castrated dog with a friendly exuberant nature. So far Gus is far better with men than some women and he doesn't like vets. ... He is good with people of all ages and other dogs but hasn't lived with cats. He’s a great personality and makes you laugh. He needs an experienced home used to strong dogs, and will be best with adults. Sadly handed in due to serious illness of his owner.
All of our rescues are #PoweredByBurns, thanks to Burns Pet Nutrition for their continued support.
