Great Orme Mines Description

Explore the ancient tunnels leading to the 4, 000 year old cavern, a unique experience suitable for all ages.

We are open 7 days a week from 9. 30 am to 4. 30 pm from mid-March through to the end of October.

Great Orme Mines may be closed to the public for the winter, but the archaeological work continues.
Today we were smelting malachite in a furnace and casting bronze axes. Here are a couple of photos of the day’s work. More to follow!

Great Orme Mines is now closed to the public for the winter during which time archaeological excavations and routine maintenance will be taking place.
We will reopen to the public mid-March 2020.
