Flintshire County Council have been successful in securing grant funding from Welsh Government to improve access through Greenfield Valley, making the path more accessible throughout the year for people as part of their regular journey to work / school and for leisure and in particular for people with pushchairs and wheelchair users. Cyclists will also be able to use the path for the first time. The work will be taking place in March and is expected to last around 12 weeks’ time. During this period sections of the path will be closed in phases in an attempt to minimise the disruption to users. We apologise in advanced for any inconvenience caused. Further phases are proposed over the next two and a half years to link Holywell to Greenfield Dock and the coast.

fantastic Little gem such a variety of educational things to learn and see

I love doing events here Mainly W/W 1 talking to the children about the war getting them to take part

User

With amazing theme days where the people really get into their roles, adventure park including water fun, dressing up, historical exhibits, maze, softplay, craftroom, fairy walk along with some farm animals I can't recommend this place enough! Highly recommended for all ages. I've been going here for over a decade now and it just gets better and better

User

Well I live 5 minute walk from Valley, absolutely love it, I dog sit for my brother so I take Hamish every morning for a walk, love it, I was born in Battery Row which is in the Valley, so lived and played their to

User

We live local and have season passes. We absolutely love this place we have a 4yr old and 17 month little girls and they adore it here. Keep up the good work xx

User

We don't visit this place enough, maybe once or twice a year but my boys love it. From dressing up in the museum and learning a bit of history, they got to feed the lambs yesterday, a great park and water area. We had a lovely lunch in the cafe and got some gorgeous gift type things in the shop. Great value I thought!

User

Visited here today with 2 adults and 7 children aged from babies to 6 years. All had a fantastic time. We did the Miniature Gardens workshop where the kids enjoyed making fairy gardens. They all had great fun in the play area (Water feature a massive hit!) and maze, and we enjoyed looking round the exhibits. A great place for both adults and kids. Season passes bought as we will definitely be coming back!

User

Very lucky to have this on our doorstep, we always get a family pass each year and get our money's worth in the first week or two alone! Great in the summer, the kids love the park and always fab activities to do almost everyday of the week. It's always clean and tidy too :)

User

Myself and my children love visiting here at the weekend their is always a friendly welcome from the lady in reception and an activity to do looking forward to this year's little adventures at the valley only downside thou were are all the animals, the place is not the same without the ducks chickens and Turkey's running around.

User

I took my 6yr old lad here today. It was an open day (free of charge for entrance) and it is a beautiful place you wouldn't expect, when you actually get there for it to be so beautiful and the history and ruins are....omg unbelievable. I love anything like this place (I could actually live there tbh) anyway the only moan I do have is the prices in the cafe are waaay to pricey but it doesn't belong to the people who own/run greenfield valley museum so take your own food and have a pack lunch/picnic . other than that it is a eautiful place and a lovely day out

User

Great place to visit, a hidden gem! Really geared for families and have a programme of events throughout the year. Definitely worth checking out.

User

Brilliant fun. Not a lot of animals but that's OK, I am sure it will change in time. Always something going on at 2pm. Great for the family. I bought a family pass

User

A haven in North Wales

Visited on my birthday;

Prices in the shop are half of English costs

And the cafe too-

Okay, no card machine

But decent afternoon refreshments

Sat outside in the February sun

Also no children!

So asides from the cafe, free

To explore the abbey

And old mills

Large rusted water-wheels

Fast running stream

Industrious land, interweaved by trees

Quietly retired

To be appreciated by all.

We went yesterday, Sunday 26th November. Driven past it many times but never ventured in. Lovely place for my two small grandsons, 6 & 3. It was cold and wet, but there are many inside bits. The boys loved it, especially the adventure playground. A bonus today was the Christmas decoration workshop in the Victorian School House. It was great to get out of the cold and be creative and have something to take home too.

The staff we met were very friendly and informative. We intend to buy a yearly pass in the Spring as we will we definitely be back, thank you x

User

Visited on Sunday for mum's birthday. Mum is now registered as disabled and Ann on reception was so helpful and pulled out all the stops for us. Gold star for Ann, she was lovely! The kids enjoyed their visit as always, we all joined in with Debbie on the African Drums which again was brill and we all laughed lots. The museum and play areas were clean and presentable. Nice to see the pigs and the goats. We do miss the woodland walk. Not sure why it's closed but the kids always look forward to seeing the fairies. Will it reopen? I do hope so.

User

On the whole, myself and my granddaughter enjoyed the day, but didn't realise you don't have animals anymore, which is what the children like best, although the park was good felt the place is becoming run down, all the empty stalls where the animals were, the toddler area was very dirty, needs new equipment, the maze is tatty and needs painting, some of the displays in the museum are broken and parts missing. The making of the super hero dolls was fun but just left to do it themselves, I thought there would be a demonstration and help, but there wasn't really, the whole place needs some money and TLC spending on it, it has a lot of good things going for it, it would be a shame if it was left to decline further.

User

Visited yesterday with a friend and 4 boys aged 4,5 and two aged 8. We spent 5 hours with there kid's enjoying the play park, maze, abbey (which they love!). We did the wood craft session in the afternoon, which they enjoyed and we learnt quite a bit too! Would recommend for an afordable day out. Became shared pass holders yesterday so will be back soon.

User

I was really dissapointed as didn't really see any big changes from last year only more museum stuff which is great/interesting but children also want to see animals at a farm !!! I was disgusted in the state of the animals living enviroments the rabbits and guinea pigs had NO fresh grass to eat/graze on and old pieces of wood, old hanging baskets were thrown on the floor, more upsetting when the children noticed they were hungry and had to put grass in for them....the billy goat which we use to feed last year was in a field lying in cow/bull muck and covered in chicken poo,his bones were so visible and he appeared to be VERY weak/hungry (really upsetting to see). The water that the ducks/chickens had to bath in was green and limited. The park area is run down grass, nettles not cut just poor standards really. The ladies toilets were absolutely disgusting the smell and state of them was terrible. Flush covered in blood disgusting :-( really sad as i thought the standards would be alot higher,we have been coming for many years as the children love it but felt it could be improved.

User

Great day out on the whole. The children loved exploring the museums and learning as they went round. Unfortunately my 3 stars is given due to when we went to eat at the cafe, I had the jacket potato, and I bit into a lovely chunk of plastic.. when my partner went to warn the staff incase it happened again we didn't even get as much as an apology.

Will visit again, but will eat elsewhere.

User

Came to do the “Victorian Easter cards” craft activity today with my 2 girls.

Which turned out to be “Victorian” only in the sense that it was held in the back of a he Victorian school house. The activity was basically card, templates, glue & felt tips / crayons on the table & minimal guidance or input from the staff / volunteers. A very disappointing event. From the blurb on the fb advert, it sounded like a led activity using Victorian themed items to create reproduction Victorian cards.

We had a walk around the museum itself after. This was also disappointing. We came years ago & loved seeing the turkeys roam round & other barn yard animals to see. This time there were few of any animals, no staff to speak to about the exhibits & the dipping pond was locked shut. Didn’t even manage to fill 2 hours for the price of the admission.

Looks like when they built the fancy new entrance, they lost all the charm & character. Compared to when I last came it felt sterile & impersonal. I’m afraid I won’t be back.
