What a place to visit and socialise not alone the company of Mick and Vanessa. Beautiful decor of the highest quality. For all you back packers out there, you should be really excited by what this gem of a place is bringing to you. Well where do I start ? Firstly I loved the fact that the history of the building has been so tastefully renovated . Each room you go in gives you something interesting to look at with all the pictures/ photos of historical Chepstow , men that served our country , paintings , also famous people and not forgetting the Widders. The accommodation has been finished to a very high standard with thought been given to everyone's needs . The bar has a welcoming room which gives you a great outlook onto the town . The lounge gives you a chance to relax after a long day and unwind . Can you guess I loved it great to see a place to stay which is within everyone's budget and top class . Well done
This is an amazing place... renovated superbly, whilst still keeping original features and making it modern... fantastic bar with great hosts who know so much about the area... highly recommend.
The hostel is located conveniently at the town centre. It was very clean and looked new. Glad that I was able to wake up in the morning upon hearing church bells 😇

It's a wonderful place, built and managed by a fantastic person. My friends and me have planned to stay just one night, but, after the experience we had there, we finally stopped three days and were really sad to leave.

It was great to see the attention to detail, with regards to the buildings' recent restoration. Even better to see the 'Gallery of local 'Celebrities' amongst historic pictures of Chepstow. Recently attended a school re-union in the uppermost room/lounge. The place has a great atmosphere!!
I loved staying at Greenman, and my experience there made me wish I could remain for more than one night. My room was incredibly comfortable and clean, and the entire premises have been beautifully renovated. I had read the other reviews before my stay, but everything exceeded my already high expectations, especially given the unbelievably good price for the accommodations (which include breakfast in the excellent kitchen facilities). Best of all are the hosts, Mick and Tess, who are incredibly welcoming, friendly, and hospitable. I greatly enjoyed talking with Mick in the bar that is attached to the hostel facilities--he really seemed to enjoy educating me about Wales and the Welsh language. All in all, Greenman is a rel gem located right in the center of Chepstow. I give it five stars only because six are not possible!
Had our School reunion at the bar, fantastic venue, great friendly service, amazing to meet Mick and if id have known he was into his Gins Id have been sampling his expert advice rather than supping Vodka, Will be highly recommending the venue and accommodation and can't wait to pop in again next time I'm in Chepstow.
Great atmosphere, beautifully decorated and very well kept, staff are chatty helpful and very organised.

Excellent hostel in a building full of history. Clean, spacious, comfortable and conveniently located in the heart of Chepstow - just a few minutes walk to the castle and the Old Wye Bridge. The perfect base for a trip to Tintern Abbey too. Welcoming and helpful staff - will definitely be coming back!
Best hostel I ever stayed. A historical building, but with modern and excellent rooms. The beds slept well, the shower was good and everything was very, very clean.
We stayed here for one night during the Summers End festival and were glad the organization arranged this for us.

A small group of friends visited the Greenman Bar (Widders) and were made to feel really welcome by the owners Mick and Ness. Mick has a passion for his gins and is highly knowledgable and happy to make sure you make the right choices. A single is £4.50 and a double £7 irrespective of which gin you order and includes a quality tonic. Very relaxed, friendly and beautiful decor. Will be returning again!
