Guardian - Six Bells Miners Memorial

Guardian is the largest large scale mining memorial in Wales which commemorates the 50th anniversary of the 1960 Six Bells mining disaster in which 45 men and boys lost their lives.

The statue measures 20 metres in height and is housed on the former Six Bells Colliery Site. The memorial also pays tribute to all those people affected by the mining industry.
