Gwaun Cae Gurwen Band was formed in 1892. The band known locally as “Band Y Waun” is a thriving and successful Brass Band with a busy concert schedule.

GCG Band has over 119 years of rich musical heritage and has survived when sadly other local bands have gradually disappeared. Through the years "Band Y Waun" has competed successfully in major Contests and has brought musical knowledge to hundreds of playing members.
