An important message from the team at Gwdihŵ.
The place to be! A cute little venue, maybe even a little quirky attracting a young, arty, trendy crowd and offering cheap drinks and live entertainment - including music from DJs, bands and individual musicians, and even spoken word evenings and indie film screenings. A homely, friendly place where the staff are part of the party. Keep it up Gwdihw!
Proper nice place. Friendly staff greet friendly folk. Good bands, good drinks. Will be back 😀
Played last night with Mellow Down easy supporting the fantastic Johnny Cage and the voodoo grove. One of the best venues in Town for live music. Excellent vibe and a great sound man too. Can't wait to come back
One of the best venues to go in cardiff, great live music, cheap drinks what more could you ask for
Loved our evening
Love this little place in the centre of Cardiff. Quirky, colourful and cosy. Great place for an intimate get together whether it be food, party or gig! Good selection of drinks too!

It's tucked away so not too crowded early evening. Great choice of drinks, friendly bar staff, super atmosphere. We'll be back for sure.
Great beers, great staff, quirky decor, good live bands, marvelous atmosphere - I love this place!
Excellent night ,really nice venue, candle lit tables with some awesome acoustic acts on the bill .Very welcoming staff and a fantastic sounding PA .My first time as a punter and as a performer. Definitely recommend to anyone.
Always have a great night whenever I go here and the staff are always lovely
Great bar. Very cosy. Perfect setting for an open mic. Pint of diet coke for 2 pounds is the same as wetherspoons , so no complaints about that. Shame I forgot my instrument !
Don't know what to say really. Disappointed is the only word I can use. Teenage band travels up from Cornwall to play at a charity gig in support of a teenage mental health charity only to be turned away for being 'teenagers', ironic really. Reading the articles on your page claiming to support new bands and live music, turning away a young band who have travelled a long way at their own expense pretty much flips that claim on its head. Well done for making their first opportunity to play in Cardiff a poor one. Yeah I understand licensing laws, etc, but they where there to perform, not to drink or do anything dodgy, how Rock and Roll that some rules couldn't be bent a little. They have performed at numerous venues from Cornwall to Liverpool and London in pubs, clubs and bars, maybe one day Cardiff can be added to the list.
Zero star rating for this place....... 4 talented teens all the way from Cornwall supporting a Teenage Charity Gig in Cardiff get turned away from the venue for being underaged despite just being there to play for free, not to drink or shoot up. But if that wasn't bad enough you let them unload their gear, set up and do a sound check before telling them to sling their hook........real class.
Turned away a young band playing for free at a charity event, when they have travelled from Cornwall at their own expense. If I could give this venue zero stars I would.
Terrible treatment of a young band today who turned up to support other young people... have a word with yourselves and sort out your protocols and procedures before you do this to another band!
Real Shame for Black Leaves of Envy who traveled all that way to play for free and for charity.... You could have called them or checked the ages of your performers beforehand.... Bad management period!
Disgusting treatment of an emerging band this evening that had given their time, expense and effort to make it tonight. Blaming licensing regulations? There are no legal licensing restrictions on the age of performers in the Uk regardless of the age of entry. Supporting new bands? What an absolute joke!
Can't believe what i have heard tonight, absolutely disgraceful attitude from the organisers of tonight's event. BLOE travelled all the way from Cornwall to play for free in support of a TEENAGE charity and unbelievably thrown out (after setting up)?because 2 members are just under age. Since when do you have to be 18 to play rock n roll? One thing is for sure BLOE will move forward and upwards but the competence of the organisation has been seriously compromised. I'm sure if a certain Mr DG had been with them your attitude would have been completely opposite, you may have your reasons and I know there are rules, but whatever happened to good old fashion " common sense" and situation management!!
