About Gwent Hockey Club
Gwent Hockey Club is formed of four men's teams and five women's teams, and we have a thriving youth section. The club has seen multiple cup and league success across all teams, and is the biggest club in South East Wales.

So, it's all got real now! 😱🏑💪
Over the Easter weekend, Fri 10 Apr 09:00 - Sun 12 Apr 21:00, a team of 8 men and 8 women from 'Gwent Hockey Club' will take on a mixed team from 'Hockey for Heroes' in an attempt to break the world record for the longest hockey match. To beat the existing record we are aiming to play for 60 hours. That's 60 hours of non stop hockey, with only a 5 minute break per hour of play!
Please support our crazy bunch to raise money for 2 amazing causes, ...Hockey for Heroes and Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent Mind. Your sponsorship would be much appreciated, but most importantly, please come along to cheer the players on... Those twilight hours are going to be brutal!

Guys, a few of you have enquired about how the youth can get involved in this. Make no mistake, they are just as important in this event!!! 😍
We will be looking for ball patrol, budding videographers and interviewers, artists etc.
As you know, this event is designed to raise money for 'Hockey for Heroes' and 'Mind'. We haven't ironed out the details yet, but there will likely be a small charge for ball patrol, and in return a commemorative shirt will be provided.
... Once we have the players confirmed we'd love for some of the youth to interview them 😂
We will be running a poster competition. If you have a budding artist, let their creative juices flow. We will select winners across 4 age groups, and the winning entries will be used to promote the event. We are hoping to display all the entries in the stadium across the weekend.
If your child is involved in a cheerleading group, a choir, a band, maybe there is a way that they can be involved too?
