Please share with any carers you know in Penarth and the Vale. A new service for carers has opened in Penarth - the Hub is open daily and offers a host of financial, legal and other advice. Plus wellbeing initiatives - I’m doing Reflexology the last Wednesday of each month, sessions are subsidised for carers. More days will be added if there is demand.

Know anyone who is a carer for an older person or cares for someone with a life-limiting health condition? Free counselling and complementary therapies (including Reflexology by me) is available for carers through the charity Gofal, at their building in Roath. Respite care is available if needed. Please message me for details. Spread the word!

Lots of clients who come for Reflexology suffer with digestive problems so I'm increasing my understanding of the physiology of the gut by doing an excellent on-line course run by Monash University in Australia. This article neatly explains factors influencing appetite and energy intake. Food for Thought!

Did you see the Horizon programme about the power of Placebo effect? Chemical changes happen in the brain which can trigger healing responses. Never underestimate the power of belief was the closing comment. Very thought provoking! What did you think?
