Happy Tots is ideally situated close to Bangor University, local schools, 3 mins from Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital & 2 mins from Bangor City Centre. Childcare is available Mon to Fri between 8 - 6 (flexible) Weekends by request.

My name is Wendy Roberts I am a childminder based in Bangor, North Wales. I live with my husband Richard, in close proximity to Bangor University, Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital and local schools.

I am a fully registered childminder, I have a Paediatric First AID certificate and I am a NCMA member. I meet the requirements of current regulations (child minding & day care wales) I also take into account the advice and recommendations of CSSIW. I am CRB checked.

I run my childminding business from my three bedroom semi detached house, it has a large playroom and a safe, secure garden in which children can play. I care for boys and girls from newborn to eight years of age. I work between the hours of eight am and six pm Monday to Friday, Saturdays on request. It is a non-smoking environment with ample parking spaces available.

I provide children in my care with the opportunity to develop in a warm, stimulating, homely environment where they will feel safe, happy and valued as a person. I take into account their individual needs and preferences and respect each child's privacy and dignity.

I have a large selections of toys, books and games available in my playroom, where I provide various play opportunities and learning experiences suitable for each child's stage of development. In addition to the playroom my dining room is utilised for activities such as painting, craftwork and baking. I include a “Quiet” time to encourage rest and naps for those who need it. I take the children in my care on regular outings to local parks, library and Parent and Toddler groups. I asses and monitor the children's development and regularly provide feedback to parents. I am primarily English speaking but can speak and read basic Welsh.

It is my absolute priority to keep children safe while they are in my care. My premises have been checked and they meet the national standards for childcare. I also regularly review update and practice safety routines. In the rare event of an emergency where I had to leave the premises I would call my emergency backup, this person will be known to the parents, they will then contact the children's parents (or emergency contact) to collect the children.

I aim to meet parents requests for the care of their children according to their values, family customs and beliefs. All information will be kept confidential. I offer regular review meetings with parents to discuss any issues or concerns. Parents can be confident that any complaint will be recorded and investigated as per CSSIW complaints procedure.

I draw up a formal contract with parents before the placement begins, this contract will contain information on policies relating to arrival and collection, sickness procedure, administration of medicines, dietary requirements holiday planning and financial matters and fees. The contract is reviewed at 3 months, 6 months and every 12 months after. Parents will be provided with copies of all of of my policies including policies on equal opportunities , and behaviour and sanctions. Policies and procedures are reviewed every 12 months, any changes will be made in consultation with CSSIW. I issue receipts for all payments made.

I invite each parent and child to a pre visit before placement begins. I am regularly assessed by CSSIW to assure my service delivers the highest standards of quality of care.
