We stayed in Caernarfon as was in the area for our daughters open day at Bangor Uni.

We came across yourselves after walking around and looking at the sights.

I’m so glad we did, as from the moment we walked in until walking out, the dining experience was fantastic.

The duty manager on Friday night was so accommodating when answering questions about my daughter getting part time work while doing her degree in Bangor, and Matthew our server was fantastic and had a nothing was too much attitude.

Thank you all so much for a great dining experience and looking forward to visiting again.

Very good food and service. We had the same guy look after us throughout our meal & he was very apologetic about the service being slow & how he hadn't been waiting on long as he had previously worked behind the bar there. We could not fault anything. We told him what a great job he had done looking after us and everything was spot on. 10 / 10. Highly recommend & definitely be back.

Had mother's day meal on a busy Saturday night, head of house was a bit dry! Our waitress was wonderful, she couldn't do enough for us, even though it was busy she took good care of our need's! Food was absolutely gorgeous & more than plenty of it! Left feeling satisfied & bloated.

User

Great food, very good service and great staff, both sides of the bar the staff were great, fantastic breakfast and great pies on the evening menu, all round very good, well done

User

Excellent service, polite waiters and waitresses, food was delicious, restaurant had a lovely ambiance! I would highly recommend this place to all my friends and family! And the view of the Caernarfon harbour is always lovely to look at whilst drinking a hot chocolate in the sun! ❤❤❤

Called here for a visit & a cool drink on sunday with our dog, sat outside. My hubby ordered a sunday roast, which he said was delicious, it was piping hot & a very generous serving! (He couldnt finish it all) but our dog polished his left over beef with no problem! staff pleasant, polite & curteous. Would reccomend. Oh & a seagull enjoyed his unwanted yorkshire pud!

Booked table for 5.15 we were early but that was great the lovely Jason escorted us to our table served us and looked after us we will be back

User

Very friendly staff. Dinner was great and plenty of it, at reasonable prices. We felt a bit let down by breakfast (stopped at premier inn). It was busy and food just didn't come out quick enough. Crocs and cutlery were sparse too. What food we ate was nice :)

User

We went here on Wednesday around 4.15 pm for a quiet meal before setting off home , we were shown to a table in the first area on the left - the rest of the pub looked empty so I assume they were seating everyone here to keep the largest areas ready for Tea Time rush , and of course it's easier to serve one area . A bit noisy for us but we didn't mind , the table had been cleared but not wiped , there was salt all over it. The staff were fine and we didn't wait long at all , the food was only ok for the price . We've had some lovely meals here over the years and service has always been good . Looks a bit jaded at the minute so we'll give it a miss for a while .

User

We have eaten here before but this time we were stuck in a corner and basically forgotten about. Food ok but service poor.

User

Was very disappointed. I had booked a table for Sat night. Food came out had ordered gammon with jacket potato. gammon was burnt on one side and had been put upside down so you couldn't see it and my jacket potato looked more like a big new potato. Hubby's food wasn't what you can call hot. Little had could have done with a bigger portion. When mentioned about the size of the jacket potato to the waitress I was told that they were all small. Come on if you blinked you would have missed it. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.

User

Our table was covered with glasses when we arrived which were still there when left nearly two hours later as nobody had collected them or cleaned the table. No ice for drinks so one of our party nipped to the local asda and brought a bag of ice back - no thanks from the staff. Staff were clearly more interested in passing us for a cigarette than clearing glasses away.

User

Came here for breakfast with my family at 9 ish as we were staying at the Travelodge next door. Started ok with the cooked breakfast. However there was only coffee in a canister (no decaf available as I require) and they had ran out of tea mugs. Went to get a pastry and there was nothing left....only toast and crumpets. After about 10 mins they bought some croissants out, but then there were no plates to put them on! Used a bowl instead. Had I paid for the continental breakfast I would have certainly asked for a refund.

User

Went here on Saturday 3 September, was shown to a table and told a waitress would come over with the menus and take our drinks order, I waited over 10 minutes and went up to order the drinks myself! The barman said he would hurry the waitress up but still waited another 10minutes for the menus, eventually got them and had to wait ages for her to come back to take our order...

Food came fairly quickly but wasn't anything special for the price, the peas were dried up and chips barely warm! However the fish was lovely.

The service was very poor although there seemed to be plenty of staff wandering around chatting and doing little else!

Wouldn't go back by choice.

User

We booked our table for tea arrived a little early as you do. We got shown to our table. We were given the menu so ordered drinks and food more or less at the same time.

The food turned up before the drinks. So he went and got the drinks.

I put my fork into a piece of food put it in my mouth and it was tepid and so was my wife's so I complained and he took both meals away. He came back with fresh meals a short while later and said we wouldn't be charged for them.

They were red hot like had been put in the microwave.

Also had to wait for 30 minutes for pre prepared puddings to be served.

Wasn't happy with the service looked like they were short staffed and heard a lot of complaints from other customers about wrong orders and mix ups.

Will not be going there again and wouldn't recommend!!!!!!

User

We arrived early for our 8.15 pm booking a birthday meal. We had to ask again at 8.30 whether our table was ready it was and had been for some time. Our order was taken quite quickly but from there it went downhill our starters came and went before our drinks order arrived then despite requests our mains did not appear until we threatened to leave we actually had walked outside the restaurant the promised mains were mediocre to say the least and the final straw really was when my kids had asked for BBQ sauce and half way through it hadn't arrived on asking a waitress she replied "you want it now". Even with the heavy discount I remain incredibly disappointed with poor service poor food and a really shocking end to what otherwise was a lovely birthday

User

Steak was tough, tasteless and terrible. When we complained, we were told that they were already taking this up with their suppliers because of all the complaints they’d had. If that’s the case, why still offer the product and why still at a high price for such poor quality. Rest of the meal was no more than barely adequate, though the tartlet beer was rubbish as well. Worst meal out we’ve had in several years

User

Lovely meal the first night we visited this restaurant but was really let down by cheap and terrible tasting food on are visit the next evening. Wouldn't return again as this experience has totally put me off the place.

User

If I could rate this less than 1 star I would! Got there early afternoon on Saturday, to be shown to our table by what looked like the manager. We were sat there for 5 minutes with no menu, when I then decided to get up and go to the bar to get one. I was told by a member of staff (eventually) to sit back down, and that the lady would be with me now.

A waitress came to our table (the team leader) and took our drinks order, then went off. I thought she would then come back with our drinks, and the menus?? 15 minutes we were sat there waiting, whilst staff members were walking around the bar talking to each other! The manager then showed a couple to their table, taking a menu with them as he sat them down! We ended up walking out! Sat there over 20 minutes having not even seen the menu or had our drinks!

Shocking service! Topped off by the fact that we'd parked in the pay and display car park for the privilege of going there! Safe to say, won't bother again!

User

We stayed in Caernarfon as was in the area for our daughters open day at Bangor Uni.

We came across yourselves after walking around and looking at the sights.

I’m so glad we did, as from the moment we walked in until walking out, the dining experience was fantastic.

The duty manager on Friday night was so accommodating when answering questions about my daughter getting part time work while doing her degree in Bangor, and Matthew our server was fantastic and had a nothing was too much attitude.

Thank you all so much for a great dining experience and looking forward to visiting again.

User
