For two weeks the eggs were lovingly incubated by their mother day and night, until one day they finally hatched and the baby birds were born. ‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć ‚Äć ‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć ‚Äć Prior to this, the weather had been warm and sunny. But a thunderstorm arrived with the baby birds on the evening they hatched. They were welcomed into the world by howling wind and lashing of rain. The wind tore leaves from the trees. Our tall slender tree was blown backwards and forwards by the strong gale, with the torrential rain pouring down and smashing our vulnerable cherry tree left, right and centre. ‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć ‚Äć
We were feeling so anxious for our little goldfinch family. I struggled to sleep all night and couldn‚Äôt bear to wait a moment longer to go and check on them as soon as dawn broke. ‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć ‚Äć
To our relief and amazement, we found the nest was still intact. Mummy bird was still resting on top of it and protecting her babies despite the awful night they must have endured. ‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć ‚Äć
How magnificent and wonderful nature really is! A little bird like a Goldfinch weighs less than 14g, and using only its beak has managed to build a sturdy and strong nest for her babies which housed them safely even during the unforgiving weather. ‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć ‚Äć
Later that morning we walked our dog Josh in a nearby valley and discovered lots of trees had fallen over during the night so it was a miracle that our little bird family and our tree have all managed to stay safe throughout the storm. ‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć ‚Äć

The babies are 5 days old today and their parents now leave them for short periods of time all through the day to collect food to satisfy the chicks‚Äô ever hungry little mouths. We waited until the adults left and then quickly climbed up the ladder to take a couple of snap pictures of the babies. ‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć ‚Äć
The nest is so small and they were all squashed up against or on top of one another so they proved difficult to count, there were at least 4, but maybe up to 5 or even 6! ‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć ‚Äć
I can only imagine as they quickly grow, they will find it increasingly hard to stay comfortable in there. The nestling only usually lasts about two weeks so in just over a week‚Äôs time they will be getting ready to take their first flight into the world. ‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć ‚Äć
I already know I will miss them so much when they fledge - but who knows, one of the babies may return fully grown next year to make a nest of their own! ‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć‚Äć ‚Äć‚Äć

We ate from here last night and we're totally blown away by the favours and the many different options available.



The kitchen itself is a lovely place that has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Jane is so pleasant and very helpful in helping us choose a dish from the variety on offer. I have never had so much choice in one place!

I ended up having the following ...

Salt and pepper ribs - delicious!

Sweet and sour chikn - also delicious!

King prawn chow mein - loved the chow mein but not so keen on the prawn. Next time I will try the special for a sample of the others in one dish.

Banana fritters - delicious!



We didn't realise that there would be an hours wait so we paid up and got it delivered, so would recommend a call to Jane to pre order and book your time slot.



Even though I live an hour away I will definitely be making the journey here again for this delicious food.

This takeaway serves the best Chinese food I have ever eaten anywhere in the world. Everything on the menu that I have tried is delicious and cooked to perfection. Furthermore, Jane and the entire team deliver consistently amazing customer service that, hands down, beats that of any other business I have been a customer of. As a vegan, I am spoilt for choice with their menu, and I take great delight in seeing my meat-eating friends become instant fans once they have tried the food here.

Ok, totally renaming this place Magic & Witchcraft Kitchen! First order placed tonight to celebrate my birthday, and it certainly won't be the last. The Crispy Wontons were delicious, I have no idea how you make the 'ribs' but they were exactly spot on - even the card carrying carnivores couldn't tell they were veggie! Amazing food. I wish every meat eater would try this place, it really is delicious! Being veggie, I (we) always struggle with what to order due to a lack of choice or imagination but in tonight's meal we have been blown away by both the flavours and variety on offer. Even the meat eaters in the family enjoyed their food and we would ALL recommend, I do not know how you make the prawns taste like prawns or the barbeque pork to taste nicer than any meat that I have tried, no fatty or chewy fat, great quality substitutes. After reading all the great reviews and lots of recommendations from Vegan pages we ordered a meal this evening. It was absolutely amazing and exceeded our expectations! Divine food..... even our non vegan children loved it! We will be back ÔŅĹÔŅĹÔŅĹÔŅĹÔŅĹÔŅĹ

Absolutely delicious! We had our first takeaway last night and I've just polished off the leftover ribs for lunch. I can't wait to order again as the menu is genuinely some of the most fabulous vegetarian/vegan food I've tasted anywhere in 25 meat free years... We are so lucky to have this place in North Wales.
