Heartstart Cardiff was set up by Dawn Evans after her father suffered a cardiac arrest, after receiving CPR by dawn's mother, and a total of 7 shocks with a defibrillator, 6 weeks on a life support machine, followed by 2 weeks in a high dependency ward, and finally a cardiac ward where he had a defibrillator implanted, Dawn's father came home. dawn said "My father has now made an amazing recovery, last summer enjoyed a family holiday in France, he can now drive again, and more recently celebrated his 65th birthday. My father is a survivor because my mother performed CPR. I now want to help other families save their loved ones". Heartstart Cardiff is affiliated to the British Heart Foundation and offers FREE First Aid training to community groups and school in the Cardiff area. To book a course contact Dawn on 07854278767.
