Went to Henry's after the theatre today. Our waitress was Lisa, and she was great. Even though it was busy, she was attentive and pleasant to the children, and made sure our order was exactly as we'd requested. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Stayed at Jury’s Inn for the rugby Wales v France. Arrived in Henry’s at about 11.30 and ordered lunch @12.00 when the lunch menu started. Beef pie was huge full of meat and accompanying small portion of veg(slightly disappointing) and pot of chips were well cooked and chips were crisp and tasty. Friend had the gammon and said was good. Also decided to eat there again after the game - had the burger this time and it was succulent and juicy. Friend had sausage mash which he said was ok.

Have to say on both occasions despite the place heaving with rugby fans the staff were attentive and polite and given the number of covers the food arrived fairly quickly and was hot.

Prices a tad high for what was essentially posh pub grub but hey it’s Cardiff. I would return if visiting again but wouldn’t be a regular diner if I was local I don’t think as the menu isn’t outstanding but certainly adequate to fill a gap for the hungry.

My husband and I went for breakfast before a day shopping. It was lovely and quiet, it was only us and a few more couples. The waitress Julie was friendly and very helpful, we could not fault her. The only thing letting our experience down was the music from the kitchen. The restaurant had lovely music playing but all you could hear was music blasting from the kitchen. The breakfast was delicious mind! Would have given the breakfast 5/5 but the toast was cold.

Had a table booked pre theatre for 10 people . Sat down promptly lovely young waitress sorry didn’t get her name. After taking orders for cocktails 2-1 for 10 people came quickly and were delicious. Unfortunately out of the 10 my meal was a disaster it was Sea Bream en papillote I opened the paper to find burnt prawns, rock hard mussels and quite dry fish.... after complaining was offered another meal (didn’t have time) meal was taken off the bill. So was impressed with the service. Would still recommend it!

Went for breakfast yesterday morning and was majorly disappointed. The food was extremely overpriced (£3.79 for one piece of toast and a spoonful of beans) and arrived cold. Food came at a decent rate considering it was a rugby day, however we were left waiting for our drinks order (food came out before our drinks actually arrived) and ended up asking the waitress if our order had gotten lost. Butter was sent out in little pots for the toast, unfortunately containing hair on top.

User

We Sat outside which was great, till you looked around and everywhere you looked there was litter ( mostly napkins from Henry’s) , also every table was not fit for purpose, they were all very very unsafe,(very wobbly) if you leant on them you were in danger of having your drinks in your lap!!! (Hey Management sit at all the tables outside and you may understand)

User

Popped in here this evening having looked at the menu and it looked fab. It was warm so decided to eat outside. There was only one other table. Having asked for drinks list I waited 15 mins as no one came out to take an order.

Very disappointing service

Had a pre theatre meal last night. The system on arriving was really unorganised and poor. Our table had been given away, probably because the staff didn't communicate with each other and there is no obvious place to check into the restaurant. My food was gorgeous though - I had a chicken and pear pasta. However my friend's meal was so poor. She literally had the equivalent of 3 mouthfuls served to her. It was like a small starter, no where near what a main course should have been. I can't remember what it was but it was a vegetarian option.

Went for food post theatre - waited 20 minutes and not even offered a drink (despite being in the waiter service area) so we got them ourselves, one waitress serving was rushed off her feet but had zero customer services skills anyway. We waited over an hour and a quarter for food with 6 hungry kids despite pre-booking the table, went to make a complaint as still no food and was informed by the manager (who also had no customer service skills) it was coming. In all honesty she really didn’t give two hoots we had been waiting that amount of time as there was no real apology. Left with no food and 3 kids in tears Would never entertain stepping foot in here again, ruined a lovely day. Rubbish service all round.
