Heronstone Lodges Retreat Description
Heronstone Lodges is a self catering park offering 11 log cabins. Each are suitable from two to five people, larger families or groups can book more than one lodge. VIP cabins come with private hot tub. All cabins come with self catering facilities, private veranda, parking space, BBQ and table and chairs.
Take a relaxing break at one of our holiday lodges.
Enjoying an idyllic setting amidst protected woodland in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this rural park sits on a non working farm and offers an excellent base for simply getting away from it all and even those special and romantic occasions.
Together with a children’s play area on site, Heronstone Lodges are conveniently located for the village shops, pubs and takeaways.
A paradise for lovers of hill walking, fishing and nature, the glorious surrounding countryside is known as ‘waterfall country’, owing to the extraordinary diversity of waterfalls, and is home to an array of visitor attractions, from famous caves to steam railways, mountains and gardens.

It was a child free weekend here at heronstone and the sun was shining so the children's park had some tlc, it had a paint, new path and new bark all ready for the children

We have stayed In the owl lodge vip a good few times x we absolutely love it there and Steve is great . Can’t wait to go back soon x
We had an amazing 5 days here, the lodge was very clean, fully equipped with everything we needed, the bedding, robes and towels smelt very clean and fresh, our kids loved the playground and the hot tub, we made use of it several times a day, Steve showed us around the lodge on arrival and how to work the heating and hot tub, even decorated and left gifts for our birthday boy and girl, can’t thank him enough very kind and helpful, we even got Tesco to deliver our groceries to the lodge and ordered take away from the local village they delivered too! We can’t wait to return next year!
We forgot to write in the guest book (apologies) but what a fantastic place for a relaxing weekend. Privacy and peace.. what more could we ask for? The treat of champagne and choccies made it even more special and we can't thank you all enough. The hot tub was perfect! Thanks again and see you soon!!
The perfect escape. The lodge is extremely well maintained and has everything you need. Hot tub is amazing and a great place to finish off the day. Close to waterfalls and bike trails and the local village is a short walk away. Perfect for a relaxing family break. The playground was well used by our children. We highly recommend for a break where you just want to relax and make the most of what wales has to offer.
Stayed in wood pecker lodge for christmas absolutely beautiful would definately recommend it and will be returning in the future. Friendly staff. Could live here permanently its so peaceful.

Stayed here for a few nights with my best friend and our children to celebrate my hen with our children. Gorgeous lodges clean and very relaxing weekend. Hot tub was well used by our girls. Highly recommended and would definatly return
Sadly we are back home from our amazing weekend away here such a beautiful place. The log cabin had everything we needed inside, was lovely and clean with fresh towels and robes. The bed was really comfortable to sleep in and smelt fresh. The environment was so peaceful with the odd wildlife that was spotted. Lots to see and do with thanks to all the information provided in the box. Hot tub was amazing � staff was very friendly and was greeted by Steve to show us the ropes around the cabin. So sad to be back home, but we are definelty coming back and for longer next time. Thank you so much, we've had the best weekend xxx
My boyfriend and I stayed in Jay VIP 002 last weekend to celebrate our 1st year together and I cannot thank Heronstone Lodges enough for making it an incredible weekend to remember. The grounds and lodges are immaculate and the staff were very friendly. Upon arrival we were able to go straight to our lodge and let ourselves in before Steve popped in to tell us about the features and how the hot tub worked. Afterwards we were left to ourselves with complete privacy (save for the hot tub water check in the morning but this never interrupted us) although Steve highlighted that if we needed anything to give him a call.
I was so touched to find that the lodge had been decorated specially for our anniversary with heart bunting, rose petals, and a banner along with a bottle of bubbly and some chocolates. It was such a lovely thing to be welcomed too especially as I had only mentioned the occasion in passing via Facebook message.
The lodge itself had everything we could possibly want for our little weekend getaway (including a table top fan for the warmer parts of the day). I was pleased to find some decent sized mugs too (I need a bucket of tea to wake up in the morning!) so hadn’t needed to bring my own. The bed was comfy and the sheets and towels smelled incredible (we want to know what fabric softener they use!) and oh my goodness the power shower was heaven!
We loved being able to take a walk to the local village to pick up some bits and explore but also found just hanging out at the lodge in the gorgeous sunshine and enjoying the BBQ and the hot tub to be just as fun. We really lucked out on the weather but even if it had rained the entire time I think we still would have had a great time hanging out at the lodge and using the hot tub as it is covered and lovely and warm!
One suggestion we would have is to notify guests on where to find the instructions for the oven (as it has no markings) as we spent about 10 minutes trying to find it on Google before giving up and testing each knob...then I found the instructions in a pack under the TV haha! A little shop on site of essentials and food items would also be great for when we’re feeling too lazy to leave the lodge!
Overall we had a fantastic time and it was so romantic, peaceful, and relaxing. We cannot wait to visit again soon - Heronstone Lodges certainly has a special place in our hearts now and you can really tell how much passion and effort the owners put in to making each and every stay memorable.
Me and my partner stayed for 4nights in VIP Jay lodge and it was amazing. We were welcomed with a box of choccys and small bottle of fizz, so thoughtful. The little things i loved was how clean and fresh it was plus the towels and gowns were soft not hard like some places ive been to. The hot tub was out of this world to, we left totally relaxed.

Just returned from 5 days with my youngest and my hubby. Our lodge was number 11. It was homely and beautiful and the hot tub finished off many a busy day for us. Our son made friends with the neighbours and played for hours in the park! Thanks for an amazing stay we look forward to returning. The Lewis x

Just arrived home from a Friday - Monday stay. The park was really pretty, the lodge was immaculate, cozy, well stocked and everything was really well thought out.
We stayed in kestrel VIP number 6 and the veranda area out the back was so private with lovely views of the woodland from the hot tub.
The location of the site is perfect, so close to places like dan yr ogof, waterfalls and loads more.
Steve was really friendly and showed us around the lodge when we arrived. There’s a file full of information on walks, things to do, restaurants, (everything in the area!) which I thought was a really thoughtful touch.
The only disappointment was we weren’t staying longer, we had such a great time this weekend and have come back so relaxed and refreshed. We will be back ASAP (monday-Friday next time I think!) and will be recommending Heronstone to everyone!
Had a lovely weekend stay for a friends 40th birthday. Seven of us stayed and had two cabins between us, both had plenty of room and all the amenities we needed for our stay. Maria looked after us well and had everything we needed. Highly recommend staying here.
Fantastic , met with champagne and chocolates , xmas tree all decorated with lights on , table dressed with crackers and champagne glasses , dressing gowns on bed and the hot tub out of this world . Steve very welcoming .Would definately come back x

Ideal place to venture into the Brecons to the North or South into Swansea Bay and the Gower Peninsula. Would thoroughly recommend and definitely love to return.
Beautiful site and georgeous lodges, highly recomend the VIP hot tub lodges. Only spent 3 nights but could easily stay for a week, so much to do around the area. Thankyou for a lovely stay will definitely return. Phyllis & Jess
