Year 6 pupils at Ysgol Derwen in Higher Kinnerton had a great discussion about the laws surrounding anti-social behaviour and deliberate fire setting this morning. The delivery team at Theatre Clwyd did a brilliant job of taking the children through the criminal process that a young person may go through if they set fires, from being interviewed by a police officer and being in custody to attending court. As the Bank Holiday is approaching and the weather is getting nicer can we just remind people that are planning to ride off road vehicles in the BRYNFORD/ HALKYN and surrounding areas to act responsibly in regards to where and how you ride?
All off road vehicles must be road legal (valid tax, MOT and insurance along with a visible VRM etc) and must not ride on common land, bridleways, moorland, footpaths or land that is not part of a road.
You can, however, ride on Byways Ope...n to All Traffic, green lanes or private land with permission of the land owner.
If you are responsible enough to buy and ride an off-road vehicle you should be responsible enough to find out how and where you can legally ride it. To help with this the Trail Riders Fellowship is a very useful resource for riders and potential riders to check where they can go to satisfy their off-road adrenaline rushes safely and legally. Riding illegally not only impacts on the quality of local resident's lives but also on the environment as a large area of the land in those areas is SSSI protected land. It can also result in your vehicle being seized.

To the motorcyclists that failed to stop on the A541 in Mold, treating it like a race track and displaying riding skills I can only describe as dangerous. Jokes on you!
