Hi everyone! I’ll be closing model applications this weekend so if there is a horse you know who fits the description, please get in touch 😃 Think I’m going to end up wanting to photograph more than I’d originally planned 😅🖤 Sophie x

Morning everyone! Completely overwhelmed by how many of you have come forward with your gorgeous horses from my post last night! It's going to be difficult because they genuinely are all so so beautiful! I'll try and decide by the end of the week, with the intention of shooting later this month. Thank you all again, Sophie 🖤

Looking for equine models!
Hey guys! If you remember back in January I put out a post looking for models for a particular personal brief I was working on, well I’m back on the hunt with a new brief in mind!
I’m looking for an athletic, eye catching competition horse (or two) to be the model for my next personal project. Something such as a warmblood or thoroughbred of any colour.
... You must keep your horse within an hours drive of Wrexham, unless you’re willing to box up and travel across to my yard - based in Wrexham :)
A model release form will be given to the chosen candidate(s). The images from the shoot will be used for marketing and print, so it could be your horse who’s featured on my website and appear in homes and yards!
As a thank you, you will receive a selection of digitals from the shoot and if any if images are chosen for print you’ll receive an additional mounted A3 print.
Please only apply if you meet the above criteria! I have various projects lined up, so if this isn’t for your horse this time, perhaps your horse will fit the bill for my next brief :)
Please like and share this post, and comment with a clear full body photo of your horse.
Thank you, Sophie x

I think people often forget how quickly animals age. You have a vision of them living forever and you'll have them forever. It doesn't feel right that on Wednesday I was wishing my own '2year old' horse a happy 19th birthday.
When I was 20 I lost the most gorgeous horse I could wish for, he was a dark golden palomino and I don't have a single professional photo of him. I have snaps I'd taken on my phone but there is no comparison. I suppose because we suddenly lost him to co...lic, I thought I had all the time in the world for decent photos. It's something you put off because life happens, other unexpected expenses crop up, and before you know it it's dark and winter again!
This is a post to just say don't put it off! Create beautiful memories to treasure for years to come. When you hire a photographer, you're paying for their creative ability, knowledge, equipment and tip top quality you just cannot achieve with your iphone! I absolutely adore this poem and think it's quite fitting 🖤
This old horse.
This old horse, the Rancher said, she’s seen some better days, she’s eating up my profits, and costs a lot for hay. Another horse would suit me, a stronger one at that, she's seen a lot of miles just like my cowboy hat. This old horse, the Rancher said, she helped me herd my steer, I’m pretty sure she's magic, I know I hold her dear. Another horse would suit me, one that can run fast, maybe one that’s younger, or maybe one that lasts. This old horse, the Rancher said, she’s long and far in tooth, my children do remember, her fondly from their youth. Another horse would suit me, a gelding in his prime, one that needs less fixin’, that helps me save a dime. Why, they asked, then keep her? Why not trade her now? Bring her to an auction replace her with a cow? The Rancher’s brow grew heavy, he took a staggered step, his eyes did show his hardships, in wrinkles, as they crept. His breath, he took in deeply, as he poised to say his words, it’s as if the earth grew silent, that his message should be heard. This old horse, the Rancher said, has given me her life, I wouldn’t trade for anything, nor either, would my wife. Another horse would suit me, and perhaps someday will come, but this old gal, I love her, she is the chosen one. This old horse, the Rancher said, her service she did lend, her and I, have seen the years, this old horse, she is my friend. Another horse would suit me well, but her home is here to keep, I owe her sanctuary, my love for her is deep. Another horse would suit me well, and younger days for me, and I will keep my promise, until our last breaths, set us free. Artist- Don Stivers

I've known this horse most of my life. She has been my absolute rock since I was 12. She's 19 next week and I just couldn't imagine my life without her. I am so lucky to have 6 amazing horses in my life but Holly was my first and will always hold a special place in my heart. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀... ⠀

Lots of fun playing with this concept. This image was 100% achieved in camera - with a few touches here and there in Lightroom to really make it pop!
I've always loved photographing things differently. I remember way back when in college, we were given a brief titled 'Migration.' Everyone got to work on researching and I couldn't help but feel the topic was a bit closed? I didn't think it allowed me to explore the kind of photography I was interested in. I didn't want to sit... and take yet more headshots.
So I stripped it to basics and looked at the word Migration. "The movement from one place to another." I loved playing with bold, bright, playful colours, so had a few ideas how I could interpret that into this brief. My final piece was using food colouring dropped into water which created the most beautiful interesting shapes. Tick! My colourful fun brief was achieved. I made it work!
This same piece appeared in an exhibition along with other Migration pieces. I remember smiling when I heard a young boy point at my work and say "I don't get it? How does that show migration?"
I've never wanted to stick to the norm, and if some people don't get it I'm ok with that! I'll continue creating the work that 'sparks joy' 🖤 💫

Morning! Happy Monday! Just a little reminder that our next beach shoot will be the 22nd June at Ynyslas. I may be biased because I lived in Aber for so long, but it's the nicest beach for riding! Easy parking, beautiful dunes and huge open spaces for a good gallop! All the sunset shoots have been taken, but there is still some availability for shoots during the day! Send me a message, prices start at just £50!

Because photoshop can fix anything 😂😅

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances we're having to cancel the shoot next weekend at West Kirby. I've contacted those of you who had already booked on with what we can do 😊
So that leaves only one beach shoot left for the year which will be held at Ynyslas on June 22nd. No more places available for the sun set shoots, but we do still have a couple of shoot and play and shoot and swim shoots available.

Have you checked out our online shop yet? I’m currently working on more prints to get up! So excited to share them with you once the series is complete 😍

I do feel privileged that I get to shoot these beautiful animals for a living. When I was a little girl I'd scream and get so excited if we even went past a field with horses in! Fast forward to today and we have our own place with 6 horses outside and I get to work with them too. Dreams do come true 🖤

Another week of juggling work and entertaining my three year old while he's off nursery! One of the many perks of being my own boss is that I can alter my hours to fit around my lifestyle. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do with Artie this week? Maybe I should take him up to snowdonia, I'm sure Polly Pocket would have foaled by now! Look at that tummy! 😍
