About Holly Bush Inn

The Holly Bush Inn is a traditional pub at the centre of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct World Heritage Site, with a fantastic view point of the Dee Valley & Cefn Viaduct, established 1800!

Holly Bush Inn Description

The Holly Bush Inn simply serves the best beer in the Cefn, so we are told, and provides Tourist Information. The beer is kept in our vaulted basement cellar at just the right temperature. The pub, originally established in 1800 at the time of building the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is the oldest pub in the Cefn. The oldest part of the building is actually built from the stone spoil left over from the aqueduct, whilst the second oldest part, another stone section is built from the spoil of the Cefn Viaduct construction in the 1840's. The Holly Bush Inn is home to the Plas Kynaston Canal Group and stands at the centre of Cefn Mawr. It has been a centre for the community for well over 200 years and continues as we "Keep the Pub Open". We look forward to seeing you sometime soon.
