Home Instead Swansea Description
Home Instead Swansea has been operating since March 2009. The business was set up by Ben Ruddle, who after a poor experience with the available care services for his 98 year-old grandfather, decided that he could help other people with similar problems, and began looking for a way to do so. After some research, he came across Home Instead and decided to open a franchise here in Swansea, as Home Instead specialised in exactly the kind of care that was, until now, missing in this area.
"Home Instead Senior Care are committed to making a difference. We regard it as a special privilege to look after people with love, care and compassion - and we take our responsibilities very seriously indeed.
Our ethos is simple – treat others as we would wish to be treated ourselves. In doing this we are improving our clients’ quality of life.
Each and every one of our clients has a care plan tailored specifically to their own needs. Whether it’s a trip to the park for some fresh air, a visit to the hairdressers, some help around the house or assistance with shopping, right through to medication reminders and post-operative support or respite care we are here to help. We also provide a range of specialist services, which include Alzheimer’s and dementia care, convalescence care and respite care.
What’s more, we take time to carefully match our caregivers to clients so that they share common areas of interest and can form an immediate bond. We only employ the most caring, considerate and empathetic caregivers – people to whom making a difference to the lives of others is important. It is for this reason that we enjoy long-lasting relationships with our clients. Our caregivers are carefully selected, are CRB checked and have to provide six references".
The Swansea Home Instead Senior Care Office is part of a global network of more than 975 locally owned and operated offices.

This is the event Jade attended yesterday with Workways+ who support with job searching, CVs, application forms, interview skills, telephone techniques and access to training to gain experience for people who need to find long term employment.

Workways tackles the barriers that prevent individuals from finding employment. The project provides support with job searching, CVs, application forms, interview skills, telephone techniques and access to training. Participants are also matched with local businesses, helping them gain the vital experience needed to find long term employment.

I’ve taken my clients out to Mumbles and the local garden centres. I also do jigsaws and crosswords with one of my clients with Dementia.
