Hunter’s Railway Street is a family owned restaurant located opposite the famous Slieve Donard hotel in the idyllic seaside town of Newcastle.

The kitchen is where we get serious. From the locally sourced, quality ingredients we use, to the passion and attention to detail in the preparation of every dish; at Hunter’s we pride ourselves on delivering the very best of modern and exciting dishes at a value that everyone can enjoy.

Our menus offer wholesome and heartwarming food, but with a level of refinement that elevates it above just good home cooking. This refinement is evident in our home baked breads, stocks, risottos, pastas, pies, soups, chowders and more.

During the week Hunter’s offer rustic, humble dishes to suit all tastes, made to order sandwiches, soups, pies, burgers and more. Then when the weekend comes around, we serve the best Brunch in town, with cooked to order breakfast frys, wholesome and healthy options of granola, porridge or our sumptuous pancetta wrapped asparagus spears and of course a number of vegetarian options such as our feta frittata, mushrooms on toast or our vegetarian fry, we’re proud to provide an alternative to the cafe breakfast.

In the evenings we have a full A la carte menu available, with exciting specials every weekend that take advantage of the incredible local and seasonal produce we have available to us from throughout the country.
