Another trip pinched this morning before the strong winds arrived this afternoon.
A steady amount of mackerel. Huss to 12lb a few dogs, whiting, dabs and poor cod making a show too. I fully expect the tope to make an appearance this week for those wanting to target them!

Sneaked in a 5 hour trip this morning before the strong winds arrived.
The crew filled a few boxes full of whiting to take home plus a few drifts at the end of the day produced some mackerel and herring.
We are very fortunate in Rhos to get shelter from the prevailing south west winds and get some good fishing, however a line has to be made.
... This afternoons trip was cancelled due to the increase in wind speed. The guys booked on took some explaining to that rain in Manchester doesn't make the sea calm here. But once I explained I don't earn a penny if the trip is canceled they started to get the picture...

Told the lads the mackerel had been very patchy lately....
Any amount of them inshore before we head further off to see what we can find!

First bream of the year today for us.
Plenty of whiting of all sizes. A few insize codling, dabs, tub and grey gurnards, pouts, poor cod, dogs, huss and a few mackerel. Some of which a real good size.

Last few days the fishing has been much the same as previous recent trips.
Stacks of whiting, alot of small codling with the odd 2lb+ fish, dabs, gurnards, huss, rays, pollack etc.
The mackerel have become more elusive the last few days but still picking up a few.
... A surprise yesterday was a minke whale popping up 50 yards from the boat. Unfortunately it was up and down too quick for any photos.

Plenty of whiting today and a good number of codling. The codling all slightly under size so they were put back to grow ready for another day! Mackerel scarce today compared to recent trips. Dabs dogs and herring making up the rest of the species.

After the weekends bad weather we weren't too sure what the fishing would be like today.
