As regular customers of InSync Lisvane will now know, our application for an NHS pharmacy was declined by the Welsh Ministers. However, we are committed to providing pharmacy services in Lisvane and will be remaining OPEN, business as usual, with a slight reduction in opening hours from tomorrow Saturday September 29th 2018. Insync Pharmacy sites are currently open for business at 67 Thornhill Rd, 2 Heol Y Delyn (Lisvane) and North Cardiff Medical Centre Excalibur Drive however with Cardiff having been issued with a red weather warning we will have to monitor the situation and closing times may have to be pulled forward at some sites. We shall keep our social media updated with any changes to opening hours. We advise patients not to leave the house unless you have to. We are endeavouring to get our scheduled deliveries out to patients today

You may have seen in the press in the last 24hrs that some inhalers have been recalled. The issue is that 3 LOTs have been identified as not delivering the full number of doses.
The inhalers affected are: * Ventolin ACCUHALER : LOT numbers 786G and 754P : Expiry 05/2019 * Seretide ACCUHALER 50mcg/250mcg/dose: LOT number 5K8W : Expiry 04/2019... Please see the attached pictures for the type of inhalers affected.
You will be able to check the LOT and expiry date of your inhaler by checking the information printed on the box or the inhaler itself. If you identify that you have any of the affected LOTs or would like a pharmacist to check your inhalers please visit your local pharmacy for free advice

We have had many worried patients asking about the reported ‘Aussie Flu’ in the press, so here are some Flu facts: * there has been an increase in diagnosed flu in Cardiff and Vale in the last two weeks * the best way to protect yourself is to get vaccinated - the current UK vaccine DOES protect against the H3N2 strain also known as ‘Aussie Flu’ * anyone can have a flu vaccination but those most at risk can get one for free on the NHS, others will have to pay a small charge (...£9 at Insync Pharmacies-adults only) * The Australian health department reported that the vaccine was not as effective as hoped against the H3N2 strain however the vaccine is still the most effective way of protection against all prevalent flu strains * 100% protection against flu is never guaranteed with the vaccine but it is your best chance of protecting yourself * it is NOT too late to get vaccinated! Vaccines are still available, no appointment is needed for one at Insync Pharmacy
