I would like to thank all our patrons of our Cardiff Bay restaurant for supporting us over the last couple of years unfortunately I've taken the decision to close the Bay restaurant for good to concentrate on our Cathays restaurant and the new one opening in Newport in April 2019. WOW well where do I start well first the staff are AMAZING no other word for them top marks TREM AND CAMILLE realy made us feel at home the food was out of this world realy fresh and tender tell atmosphere was realy chiled and relaxed but in ALL the staff were lovely the caribean steel drum player was weal good and fitted in well this site needs a plus on the star rating 6+ realy recommended

Took my friend here yesterday evening. We have tried Turtle Bay and it's always our go to, but I heard great things about Irie shack so we thought we'd give it a go! It knocked turtle bay out of the water. The menu was amazing, the food that arrived were such good portions and tasted delicious and the cocktails were so tasty and colourful! Staff were excellent and polite. Can't fault it! Will be coming back in July!

The place has a great vibe and great music. The food is generous and tastes great.

The food was delicious and great value too! The staff were so friendly, so helpful and made us feel so welcome. We were a hen party and spent most the afternoon there, the staff (bar, kitchen and management) got us all up dancing to a good luck anthem (which is apparently tradition) and make our experience one we will all fondly remember! Can't credit this place enough! Amazing x

Staff very helpful,friendly and polite, our waitress never stopped smiling and joking with my husband even though she had probably heard it all before, food was fab as well, hot and well presented, restaurant clean and decor and music in keeping. Would definitely recommend

Spoilt for choice with the menu and the food was awesome. Everyone in the group really enjoyed they’re meals. The decor and music where also great. I would highly recommend a visit and I will definitely be back �

Popped in here for a quick bite as it wasn’t too busy.. what a find! As soon as my sister and I entered, the place had a lovely vibe and the young man was very welcoming and sat us down with a fab explanation of what was available (even answering all my questions about ingredients etc). Service was on point throughout our meal too, even with a large party arriving. Will definitely be popping back!

Myself and my friends absolutely loved this place, first time for all of us and it won't be the last, amazing food, fab staff so friendly and welcoming nothing was too much trouble for them, awesome place to eat �

My husband arranged a fabulous surprise 40th for me at the Irie Shack. We all had a fantastic night, we ate delicious food, drank great cocktails and enjoyed a good old dance at the end of the eve. A brilliant atmosphere! Thank you!

Lovely meal last night we wasn’t 100% on the cocktail as we ordered the wrong type of rum so the waiter added syrups for all 3 of us. Thanks We had a great time x

But the Irie Shack in Cardiff Bay ah de real ting!!! 10 out of 10!! On entering the decor and music made me feel like I'd been transported back to Kingston Jamaica, my wife ordered the oxtail with fried plaintain and I the curry goat and mek me tell yuh! It nice cya done! Perfect and authentic!! Propa food!! And I must big up the presentation as food was served in old time enamel plates just like my grand mother use to have and brought back memories of me sittng in the back yard under the mango tree next to the curry goat dutch pot on the coal fire!! Excellent Irie Shack! You have my full recommendation!!

Came here for a meal with my partner, it's my 40th so just a quiet one for me with the one that mattered, as soon as we entered the door the staff are so welcoming and take extra attention to a customers needs, the food is outstanding, I have bad anxiety issues and have to say it is the one place I have been that it has not affected me, I will Defo be coming back and would recommend the place, if your a bunch of grumps and don't like a really friendly atmosphere then not the place for you, if you want a friendly place where your made to feel like family then get on down there

Called in on the off chance of getting a meal.told we had the table until 8pm (ARRIVED AT 6PM).ordered the meal hence no starters due to lack of time , meal arrived 45mins only to find that the burger was totally burnt on the one side .returned the meal next they turned up at the table with a totally different meal wich I felt obliged to have , no offer of any goodwill gesture .....never to return or recommend the place:'(:'(:'(

Been to both Cathays and Bay, both poor service. Missing starter but was rectified. Sweet potato fries came as a starter even though wanted with mains, was then dumped on the table anyway because 'it's on there somewhere whether it's starter or mains'. Mains came before starters were cleared. Weren't offered desserts as staff stayed behind bar. Apart from that, food , drink and place is nice. Won't be returning in a hurry.

Would never go here again, waitress was poor and didn't know they served fish cakes, the wrong food was bought and was told they will bring me the right order in 10 minutes, I told them not to bother but they bought it over anyway. Average food and experience ruined! NEVER AGAIN!!
