Passionate about piano teaching in rural Pembrokeshire!
A professional member of EPTA, I have a B. Ed (Hons) degree and an ALCM in Piano Performance and many years of teaching experience.

Every student starts piano lessons with excitement and I endeavour to tailor lessons just for them! With regular study at home, (supported by parents for under 9s) musical concepts and pianistic skills may progressively grow. I use singing, percussion, movement and music of many genres (Bach, the Beatles or Blues? What would you choose?) Skills and understandings of melody, rhythm, harmony and piano technique are gradually built through learning pieces initially by ear, heart and rote and improvisation. Musical literacy unfolds as appropriate. Learning is for the joy it may bring, that arises from continued progress, study and practice. Whether one is pursuing a lifelong dream to enjoy piano for pleasure or to become a concert pianist, I do my best to help students make music as a fulfilling part of their lives.
I prepare students for examinations and festivals as appropriate. I currently use the ABRSM examinations. I help with GCSE and A level course work. I hold regular piano parties, often in the beautiful Oak Hall at Rhos-y-gilwen.
I have many years of experience as a music specialist and general primary school teacher and as a Steiner school teacher. I love playing music on the piano and I am devoted to a path of continued study, of learning how to help students learn such that they ultimately become independent learners.
Lessons take place in my music studio, which houses a lovely grand piano, in rural Pembrokeshire near the Preseli Hills.
