Keri Mckibbin Personal Training Gym Description

Ted's gym was founded in 1951 by my father Ted Mckibbin, and moved to Neptune Square in 1957.

The gym has had two extensions from its beginnings as a labour exchange, and is currently planning a new training area again.

The gym has produced all types of athletes and try to enhance people' lives in the community over the years, and continues to live by the strong values that started back 63 years ago.

Whilst many gyms have come and go over the years in the llanelli area, we continue to believe that the recipe of success is serving the member as well as possible, and staying up to date with cutting edge training techniques to try and stay ahead and continue to produce real, long lasting results.

Our gym used to be known as a "men only" type of gym, but the female membership has gone up dramatically, and everyone here knows now that the females often train harder than most of the men-that is a fact.

Training is started with your initial measurement, an in depth physical analysis session, and we are the opposite of most gyms in that we always look after you, and do not just leave you get on with it after one induction.

We have a substantial junior membership starting at 9 years, all the way up to former welsh international Peter Rees, who still trains every day at 89 years of age.

We differentiated ourselves from other gyms by creating an intensive workout while still accounting for any pain or limitations that exist in your body.

We have developed a training system that has proven successful at restoring pain free movement and enhancing performance in whatever capacity your life demands.

We all start in different places or take different paths, but ultimately we want our journey to take us to the same destination: health and happiness.

Have you won your day today? Did you workout today? Did you do something that you have never done before today? Did you get out some junk from your diet, and chose healthier food? Did you put in a better performance in your. workouts today? Did the weights get a little lighter than usual? Is your motivation better? Do you associate exercise now with feeling good? Did you walk on your lunch break?... Or was it a struggle to get out of bed today? You couldn't face the challenge today (don't worry tomorrow is another day and you can do it-we support you). Did you walk or drive to the gym but couldn't face walking in (don't feel bad many go through this from time to time).Walking through the door is often the hardest bit! Did someone put you off training and you listened to them? (time to get rid of your negative influences in your life). Have you enough support in your life or do you need extra support? Maybe changing your environment into a more positive one can work dramatically. Lots of things going on every day for ALL of you. Life is a series of decisions and actions that ALL have consequences. I REALLY want to help and support you, and tell me your story. Tomorrow is Friday, it's maybe the end of the week but it could be the START of a new exciting future for you IF you take action.

Latest figures show that most of us will watch up to 5 hours of TV EVERY day on average. We will also look at our smartphones up to 5 hours a day.
Those minutes and hours all have a cost that lead to many lost opportunities in our lives, often giving up on the the things that REALLY matter to us.
We make time to brush our teeth, wash ourselves, to eat food, as these things are VITAL to us.
... We say we have no time in our lives anymore as life is faster than ever, but many people say they have zero time for exercise and could not possibly fit it in as it is somehow "non-essential", even if our lives will be much better and of higher quality because of it?
All our actions have consequences.
With the time we spend on phone, social media can be the main culprit. We all rely on significance and most of us like someone "liking" our post or picture.
Tech firms know that it gives us a boost, gives us significance in our lives to know we are appreciated and they actively track our interests and preferences, to make us feel better and ultimately sell us more "stuff".
The tech firms rely on us being hooked to their devices.
The consequences of spending more time watching screens are often huge lost opportunities. A combined up to 10 hours screen time time daily can often make us feel we have no time for exercise.
That very decision not to get your trainers on can have a far-reaching impact.
It will lead to premature ageing and everything that comes with it, often ill health, feeling lethargic and end up with us feeling no ambition in our lives to actually get up and get "stuff done" anymore.
Surfing the internet can be fun, but it won't come close the to the inner pride we develop when we re-discover what our bodies were created for-TO MOVE MORE.
Exercise is the catalyst to everything good in our lives.
More energy to look after our kids and grandkids, more energy to chase projects and aspirations we have put off for too long, more energy for higher performance all day long, as and when we need it.
Exercise and eating right makes us feel good full stop and that means being happy with who we are right now, and where we are going and what is possible in the future
Everything you do today can put you on a better path to huge energy and great possibility OR eventually a path of zero energy and much lower expectations at everything you view in life.
You are in charge, you are responsible and you are entirely capable of doing incredible things. Make it happen.

Proud to have unbeaten Burry Port RFC at the gym coached in Strength & Conditioning by our very own Coach Dan Smith. Dan also was coaching Narberth RFC here the night before and regularly coaches them here. If every team got their players truly fit and string, their results would improve incredibly. Our facilities are tried and tested including our new sports pitch for football, netball and basketball and we are proud to get the very best out of our great community.

Life is all about keeping going no matter what. Whatever you do, don’t stop, ever.
We all have lofty aims, things we want to do, places we want to go but there is always a personal price to pay. The good news is that we grow because of the effort we give.
When you start exercising, the importance of keeping going no mater what can never be understated. You need to keep showing up until the habit sticks.
... When it does eventually stick, it’s then that the results start to happen and they actually last.
If you start a new business, everything seems hard, you can feel out of your depth at times, you realise that its actually tougher than you ever thought, what people say can put you off your game in the early days but the main advice always has to be to keep going no matter what.
What we eventually realise though is that it’s all about the process, and not always about where we get to in the end.
When we exercise, there is a feeling that it is a “grind’ at times, but it’s the times we show up when we didn’t even feel like it, can pull us through and improve us greatly.
When starting a business, and doubt is a daily or hourly occurrence and worry, it’s the process of how we overcome that worry and challenge when everything is on the line, and somehow make it in business for the long term.
THESE are the magic moments of great satisfaction and personal reward even if it felt highly stressful at the time.
If you are currently have 3 sugars in your coffee, then cutting it down to 2, is a victory. Then after a month of cutting down you may be having zero sugar in your drinks. MAJOR progress. Then you will NEVER go back to 3-ever trust me!
If you keep on switching to healthier options, and making small changes each week, then it won’t be painful and you’re far more likely to stick at it instead of trying some fad diet that’s going to end up in tears.
Whatever you do, keep working at it, respect and get to love the process because anything easy is not worth getting.
Hard work and sacrifice over time means you are back in the game, you feel alive again and you will realise it's not just about the end result, it’s about the person that you become throughout the challenges that are bound to come along the way.

Running back Raheem Mostert keeps a list of the SIX teams that got rid of him before he signed with San Francisco 49ers and looks at it for motivation before every Niners game. Mostert set a play off record Sunday of 220 yards running and is a true study of perseverance, grit and determination, and never giving up.
The San Francisco 49ers are in the Super Bowl, but over the last few years, almost everyone would have bet against it.
I remember the glory days of the 49ers in th...
